Yes. Quoted €4k to repair some years ago. It’s an integrated water and oil pump. The seals fail and rather than sell you the seals, Ferrari sells you a whole new pump. The part is about $2,800 from Eurospares and the engine oil needs to be drained so your quote seems to include c.$5,000 of labour to fit it which seems excessive. A guy who used to sell rebuild kits for 599 pumps was in touch with me to get an old FF pump to build a service kit around but he decided to exit the business. So it can be rebuilt if the will is there but I don’t know who is making any service kits.
Thanks. This is a local mechanic I’ve used for years. They aren’t cheap on the labor - but stated it’s an estimate and could be less as they get into it.
wow came off a car with 80k+ miles on it. Mine only has 27k miles and needs replacing already. Not sure If its just worth getting new. Would hate to run into the same issue buying a used one.
It is great of Daniel to find that part and post it for you as an option. For me the problem would be is that the labor is so expensive. If the part doesn't last long, or is even DOA, that's a lot of money down the drain.
My post was with the thought of someone maybe being interested in attempting a rebuild as stated in a previous post, The Hollywood Mechanic always seems to conjure up rebuild kits that Ferrari don’t supply.
I took the FF for inspection and extending the warranty for one more year. Dealer found issue with coolant pump, corrosion. Take back to dealer next Tuesday.
