Hello everyone. I have a 2012 FF that I've owned since 2018 and absolutely loved. Recently I noticed that the wipers are actually rubbing up against the edge of the hood in a way that is definitely not right. (See pics) Has anyone seen this before? They havent been removed or serviced at all to my knowledge, so not sure if this is something that is simply about tightening the bolt that secures them (it looks fine) or not. Any insight appreciated. Thanks! Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I dont think it's a problem of tightness on their axle. That would be quite weird that they both come loose. Unlikely as well that the hood is in the wrong position as that would be quite obvious vs the other body panels. My thoughts are that they have been removed at some point, along with the motor and linkage, for whatever reason. And the motor and linkage have not been put back together properly, like for instance not in the good order, so the linkage sits higher than it should.
Thanks. That's what I was guessing. The last time the car was serviced it was to replace the PTU along with some engine work, so its likely the whole assembly was mounted incorrectly. Definitely not something I can attempt to do myself!
My 2012 did this too. No clue why. Destroyed the paint underneath the lip of the hood. Just Ferrari things…
Same with mine. I noticed it last year while trying to align the driver's side wiper arm. Indeed must be a Ferrari thing to have them rubbing. I wonder if there is some kind of lubricant I can apply in between.
I had a dodge van that the wipers got all out of sync after over a decade of use. Wound up taking the linkage out and reinstalling only to have it be worse. No idea what caused it since I bought it new. A real head scratcher.
