FF xenon bulb change

There's a tab on the side next to the bulb that lifts up. This locks them in place.

Lift tab, remove bulb, fit new bulb, push down tab to lock new one in place.

Yes, flipping the switch down definitely made it a lot easier to remove the bulbs. The new ones are much brighter. The OEM ones that were replace were Phillips.

can’t wait to drive on a really dark road.

 

@21ATS I am able to take the bulb out but now I couldn't get the new bulb to sit properly....I am using your method to access the bulb from the engine bay. However I couldn't see inside the housing especially the tabs around....I tried for 30mins and give up. Any tips pls?

 

Small hands. Light. Contort head some. Take your time.


It took a few attempts when I replaced mine with Osram CBB but got it.

 

I was thinking that maybe the battery is better accessed from the wheel well??

 

Does it need to push real hard? I tried to push very hard but still wont go much in.

 

No I don’t recall needing to push hard.

 

Anyone have any pictures of the difference in light output at night?

I can't imagine it'll be noticeably better as the projector lens in the FF are shocking, and that's the main cause of the problem.

I walked past a 599 the other day and the headlights on that seemed much, much sharper with a clear cutoff and a nice colour band on the edge of the beam, and that's an older model than the FF! Seems like they went backwards a bit with the technology.

I am trying to change the Xenoe bulb to D1S Led Bulb, after completion, will let you guys know the result. It may have error code, the technician said that to me.
