http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Ferrari-FXX-Ferrari-FXX_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ6212QQihZ001QQitemZ110045329893QQrdZ1 rnt most FFX worth a lil more than this? wonder whats wrong with this one.
In the AD is states that the auction is just for the downpayment....Its obviously a scam, but I dont understand why someone with a 936 feedback rating would try something liek this....
Often scammers do sell things legally to get their status up, or they take over other accounts. They are by no means idiots, though they seem to believe we are. Peter Hatch
His acct has been hijacked? Had to laugh when I saw this...can't imagine anyone would take this guy serious.
Do you really think Ferrari would allow this? The FXX is a test program that cost a few lucky souls nearly $2 million in order to participate. Certainly when they agreed, they also gave Ferrari the right of first refusal to obtain the car in the event of a sale. Anyone selling the car without authorization would be removed from the Ferrari "family". And I really doubt that Ferrari would allow an FXX to get in the hands of just anybody on EBAY. I would think this is a case of false advertising and that the reserve is so high, no one would come close. Send the seller a question asking them how they can prove they can deliver the car. I doubt if you get an answer that would be worth gambling the money for the deposit.
I've been hearing this over and over. Why does it matter what Ferrari tells them? It is their car, is it not? Did the people not buy the car, but the ability to attend the events perhaps? Is the car like an exiting gift as you exit the program? (not sarcasm, but a serious question) Maybe it's just something you just "can't" do it, because no one is willing to give theirs up, for good reason. Seriously, if you sold your FXX right now, you would make infinite profit in comparison to selling it later. I would put money that ten years after the program ends, it will depreciate like a rock. Lastly, how would you be banned from the "Ferrari Family"? You could just go to dealerships, auctions etc. Just my personal opinion, Peter Hatch
Its not who's selling the car, but who's buying it. Whoever buys it out of "the family" will not have it serviced at a Ferrari Dealership unless there was authorization given by head office in Maranello. Enzo's can be bought and sold like lollipops now, FXX can only be sold on consignment through the dealer, and Maranello will know all about it. There are 3 FXX in Canada, all owners have owned 1-2 Enzos previously along with other Ferrari's. When you buy an FXX you are taken to Maranello, Ferrari HQ to be fitted and tested in your car. This won't happen if you buy it used through the Auto Trader!!!
The FXX is a special case, 2$ mil dollars is alot, but they would be on the open market in a few years anyway. Because they are brand new and being delivered makes them a current topic. Wait until Ferrari comes out with the next supercar, and the FXX and Enzo will end up in the same pile, and be just as bland as an F50 or F512M nowadays, and cost alot less.
Are you talking to me? I'm not ignorant, just speaking the truth. I had a 512M, thinking it would be valuable one day as the last testa made, yeah right! Let me rephrase, the F50, 512M are not 'bland' but were yesterdays 'ultimate'. They are and always will be, until the next best thing comes along! Ferrari is already working on the next F?? car.
the F40 was THE original supercar of modern times. Aside from the 288gto, which was 'old school'. The "super exotic" F40 had extreme styling and extreme horsepower, a first for a Ferrari, which had made only "exotic" cars up until then. The F40 was and always will be the ultimate supercar because it opened the doors for such high performers like the Diablo, Vector and 959's of our era. It was the first track car built for the street, unfortunately, the exclusivity was ruined when they increased production to 1300 cars instead of the limited 399. They have somewhat held their value, a new F40 was listed around $450,000 US in '87, now you can easily buy one in the mid $200's. Definetely a classic.
Reads like you copied that from a website.... BWAH-HAHAHAHAHA. Not trying to give you a hard time. Just may want to do a bit more research... Seriously, welcome!
Why would I need to research, I just say what I know is true. A friend bought an F40 for 350$ Can, which is roughly in the mid $200 US range. They are very easy to find. I din't take anything from a website, I am acquainted with Ferraris and other cars, I know what I'm talking about.
WHAT?! 350CDN is about 310 USD. The currency exchange rate isn't even close to what you are saying. I certainly hope it was, because then my hotel would be even cheaper for NAIAS.
I live in Canada, and own an F40. You absolutely CANNOT buy an F40 for mid $250's...unless it is an incomplete (crashed) US Version, or a Euro Version, as the Euor versions cost appropx $125K to make admissable to the US. Solid US Version F40's sell for anywhere from $350-$425...ask Simon or any other knowledgeable F-chatter. F40 Carlo
I think his was an older one. There was a collectors F40 from FL on ebay for $275k US with no reserve. Maybe i'm a bit off, a good F40 is definetely over $300 k US. Is yours a '90 or '91? You can get an '87 or '88 for a lot cheaper. I am a knowledgable F chatter, and a F fan like you guys. Please read my second last post, "my opinion on the F40".
There were no US models untils 90's so therefore your friends wouldn't be a US model, which could justify a $250 price, as it would be an older European car. I think perhaps that your US$ conversion to Candian $ (a 12-14% exchange) being so far off made us doubt your credibility....my apologies....this site is not for the scared, or weak...many scrutinize your every word.
