Any recommendations for fuel injection and ignition troubleshooting for a 1983 308GTSI/QV. Seattle area, preferably north.

Cold starts fine, but I don’t get a fast idle. After a few minutes the idle will increase. There is also slight ‘tic’. No noticeable change in rpm, but just seems like a plug is not firing sometimes.

Runs strong and even without any stumble, but even when cruising there is still a ‘tic’.

When hot and at idle will run rough and am even getting what seems to be a full bank intermittently cutting out. Rev the engine and all returns to ‘normal’ (‘tic’ still there).

I had similar symptoms, mine traced to a cracked hose in the hidey hole of the trunk and a crank sensor going out, I replaced two crank sensors for good measure and has been fine since

Well .................... somehow I had the impression that you were disinclined to work on these 'older' cars, otherwise I never would have started this thread. I'll contact you.

I was just about to post - please contact Mark G.
He will take care of that issue.

Glad to see Mark already chimed in.
