Thanks Ron. Question, why is MS holding a number that doesn't match his final WDC position? I thought since Nico finished higher, he should have the smaller number...
b/c MSC doesn't like even-numbered cars. he claims it to be a superstition; but it seems more a way to mind-f*ck his teammate before they turn a wheel.
With the exception of 1 & 2, the numbers are assigned according to WCC and not WDC. Meaning, #1 goes to the WDC with #2 obiviously going to his teammate. #3 & #4 belongs to the WCC if it is not the same team that the WDC is on. And it is up to the team to decide on who gets which number. For example, if McLaren wants to give Hamilton #3 even know that Button finished ahead of him, they can do so. Usually, the one driver that the team sees as team leader will get the lower number. And I think Mercedes still consider MS as team leader in this case. Just like when Kimi and Alonso made the moved to Ferrari, they were both given the lower number as they were viewed as team leader, with Massa's "agreement".
Would *you* feel comfortable driving car #13!? IIRC, there hasn't been a #13 in almost forever, maybe never...... [Same as no row 13 on most planes or floor 13 in hotels ] Cheers, Ian
Article says Hulkenberg in, and autosport is typically very reliable. Bummer for Sutil, he's pretty fast, hope he at least ends up at Renault if that's the case.
Actually I'm pretty sure MS is superstitious and requested the odd number from Rosberg. For example last year he had #3. EDIT: Some guys beat me to it
I find it weird that Rubens and Adrian would be replaced by their teams. I think both deserve their seats.
I think Europe views #13 as bad luck, the same way the Chinese over here don't use #4 or#14. For example, they always use #13A here, to replace #14..
I believe the last time #13 was used was the '76 British GP at Brands by Davina Gallica who failed to qualify....
#4 is bad luck in Japan IIRC. Ironically, 2005 season, Takuma Sato had #4 on his BAR Honda and only scored 1 point whilst teammate Jense scored a whopping 37 points in comparison....
