The Italian AF Corse Motorola team has started the FIA Grand Touring championship with a one-two finish at China’s Zhuhai circuit, running the Ferrari F430 GT cars developed by the Corse Clienti department of Maranello.

The crew of Dirk Mueller and Toni Vilander won the closely contested GT2 class, ahead of team-mates Gianmaria Bruni and Stephane Ortelli.

AF Corse took the win when the 997 failed scruterinering (sp) for ground clearance. Vilander and Ortelli drove in a couple of the ALMS races last year for Risi. The driver line-up AFC had last year is running ALMS this year for Risi and PWL. Enge is doing double duty in the 430 this season - Scuderia Ecosse and PWL #32. (seeing him in a Ferrari seems so strange to me after seeing him so many times in the DBR9). Good to see Bruni up there and driving a Ferrari - so many times prior F1 drivers are better suited to sports cars.

Gary - we'll be at Laguna Seca in October - see you there! Dinner Friday night??

Let's work on that, it's too early to commit right now, but I hope to!
