Fantastic racing in GT1, GT2, GT4, Ferrari Challenge -> Trofeo Pirelli and Trofeo Pirelli Coppa Shell. Add to that the fact you could go virtually anywhere on the track, we had paddock access, were in the Vitaphone MC-12 garages during the race, watching cars on the track at sunset, during the night and at dawn on this circuit was awesome, sauerkraut hotdogs for breakfast at dawn watching car go up Raidillon, catching an hour's sleep in the covered grandstand, best fireworks display we've ever seen at 11:30 pm Saturday, experiencing Spa as always in the rain. All this and more for only 60€ for the weekend.

Collection of photos to follow. Please enjoy.

Thanks guys for the comments! very much appreciated. I have quite a few more to post - rain shots, night, pits, more cars, the "used car lot", new updates for F1 and more. Will probably get them on tonight.

Räikkönen Robertson Racing (otherwise known as Double R Racing) is a motor-racing team, which races in Formula Three. The team was formed in November 2004 by then McLaren Formula One driver Kimi Räikkönen, and his race manager Steve Robertson, a former driver in F3 himself. It is based in Woking (the town where McLaren build their cars).

    Thanks,
    Carol

Thanks for the comment guys. Yes, the Aston driver was okay after that incident. A couple of the photos appear very blurry - that was heavy rain. Looking closer at the Aston, the driver tub was not damaged - speaks well for the construction of the vehicle. All that was on the wrecker was the piece of suspension with front wheel, car minus everything from firewall forward, no driver door and the engine was behind the car on the wrecker. Glad he was okay.

The first photo is the new chicane which replaces Bus Stop (one chicane replacing another). The photo also shows pit in. Continuing thru the chicane takes you to the straight in front of the new F1 pits and start finish. The blue stands in the background are those just outside the Village where the cars start up Raidillon. The chicane is on the third level of the paddock area - it certainly shows the elevation change. I'm really glad Spa was kept for F1 races. . . it's such a beautiful natural track (one of a very few left). When the race is over the barricades at La Source are taken down and it's back to a public road. Where we sit for the F1 races, Pouhon, had no grandstand set up, in it's place was one of several camping areas. If I were to go GA at Spa, I'd get there VERY early and get up against the fence at the chicane. From this location you see them go up Raidillon, thru Combes, down into Pouhon and into the chicane. We're headed back next month for the F1 race - gonna seem definitely different there after last weekend!

    Thanks,
    Carol

Thanks Michael and Sam (see you in a couple weeks?) for your comments. It was too bad - no Astons left and the 430's dwindled - Enge was first out with Scuderia Ecosse #62. Mika only got to drive one lap in the AF Corse 430 before it was retired.

Corvettes were strong. Just got an email from the Le Mans Series for Silverstone and Ollie Gavin is going to drive for Luc Alphand using the same Corvette he used to win Le Mans last year. I didn't know that Gavin was a former winner of the McLaren Autosport young driver of the year award and is an ex-Formula 1 test driver. Learn something new everyday!

The driver in that Aston when it was destroyed was one of our clients, Diego Alessi. He text me after he had been checked over by the medics to let me know he was okay. Scary though... the engine itself was thrown free of the car... bad conditions in that race there were...

Thanks for the update and most definitely glad to know he is okay. Definitely early morning was not the best time of the race for many folks. Is he going to have a ride for Adria? This was our first FIA-GT race and we very much enjoyed it.

Many thanks. Glad you like them. Unfortunately they won't be available in high resolution. Toying with the idea of a new camera that might make that possible but not at the present. Ciao.
