"Sportsmail understands that Dennis, chairman of the McLaren Group and former team principal, is suspected of ordering Hamilton - possibly through former sporting director Dave Ryan, who was yesterday sacked - to mislead the stewards after the Australian Grand Prix on March 29 over how and why Toyota's Jarno Trulli passed Hamilton during the late safety-car period."

At any rate, it seems that FIA will investigate what marching orders Dennis gave to his team in an hour's time he had with them between the end of the race and the hearing with the race stewards.

In any case, this promises to be highly entertaining...

    * I'm not sure how reliable a source Daily Mail is.

Mercedes is going to go ballistic. How much do you want to bet they dump McLaren move their financial ties to Brawn if McLaren is kicked out of the points for this year?

Looks like Ron is going to be relying on testimony from an ex employee (Ryan).
Once again the cover-up turns out to be much messier than the crime.
Nobody learned from Nixon it seems.

They apparantly did not even get the point for themselves from two years ago.

Weird that we have Ferrari hinting that Schumi called the rain tires, now MCL that Dennis is the architect of the Hamilton lie.

And both of them are kinda gone from the team but not exactly gone from the team?

Wow! +1 on the first part! - If it's proven ("beyond a reasonable doubt") that RD was in any way involved this could get *really* f'ugly!

I said a while back, "couldn't happen to nicer bunch!"....... [I'm a long way from convinced yet though.]

BTW, IIRC the Mail sits about "mid pack" in terms of credibility.

    Cheers,
    Ian
