    Yes! but,

"No comment was forthcoming from the Ferrari Maserati Group company, but it is understood to be working on an evolution version that can be raced both in FIA GT and in the LMES – but not until 2006."

Which almost certainly means a better performing car!

Unfortunately due to politics I feel the Maserati MC12 will follow the 288GTO into the never race waste of time class.

Yep they will make great road cars for the few select rich play boys ... but how that is not what they were made for!

Sadly many 288GTOs didn't even get the chance to be toys for rich boys, but are rotting away as museum pieces with a few thousand miles on the odometer.

I think that the Maserati goes by the sadly same way...
When Ferrari presents the 550 Maranello GT they also had problems with the homologation. It looks like neverending story...

Which is one of the reasons why I'm not hot on Le Mans and GT racing. Too much politics changing the rules and regulations around. F1 looks like an innocent playland in comparison.

If Porsche gets too strong, we'll change the rules. If Audi gets too strong, we'll change the rules so Bentley can win. If Ferrari is too strong, we'll strangle their air intakes. Way too random.

I agree with you. In F1 they've tried to do the same, but they didn't get the same result. "If Ferrari is too strong, we'll change the rules... but Ferrari goes stronger, and stronger, and now they say that Ferrari makes the F1 boring...

The FIA, and his rules makes the races boring. I really like to see a Maserati on Le Mans, or Daytona, or something like that, but i sadly think that we'll never see this...

This is sad news. I really wanted to see that car on the track and hopefully winning.
