So apparently, the FIA think Sebastien Loeb is too scruffy looking, and is a bad influence on the millions of kids that watch rallying.
I think Max should stick to keeping his Fascist fantasies in his basement, not his professional life.

While I think the idea that any athelete be considered a role model is absurd and I don't know how he looked, it isn't uncommon for sports leagues to set appearance guidelines, similar to how the NBA requires all players to be in a suit when coming to or leaving a game.

Last time I checked the FIA wasn't Loeb's momma so they really have no say on how he should look.

It is most excellent that this has come out - because now the two dunces within the FIA who expressed concern over the impression that Loeb gives to young males will give them immense pressure to vote in favor of a no-confidence resolution on Mosley.

Otherwise they would be hypocrites. Their choice is...

    1) It is wrong for men in positions of power and influence to put forth a bad impression to the public

    or

    2) It's wrong for Loeb not to have shaved or combed his hair and he deserves sanction, but it's OK for Mosley to participate in a Nazi hookerfest with 5 broads while he shouts at them in German and pig-German.

If they go with the latter, they are clearly hypocrites and will be painting themselves as such.

However, I am very sure that the ballot to remove Mosley will be a secret one and who voted what will never be disclosed. Also, it's very likely that no matter what the vote shows, the officials in charge will say that the vote of no confidence was voted DOWN and Mosley remains. This will be followed up by an assurance that votes were counted fairly, but also to point out that in a secret ballot, it would be unthinkable to disclose the vote tabs to anyone else lest the anonymity be compromised.

In other words, they can conjure up whatever vote they like and then just say "it was secret, so no we can't prove the outcome"

I really liked the response by the head of the ISC. He, and I am paraphrasing, said that WRC drivers are not cookie cutter type conformists, and that Loeb's rugged looks are part of his appeal, which is probably true. He said that WRC drivers are liked for their ruggedness, their fearlessness.

Coolest F1 driver=the Iceman, Kimi Raikkonen

Jimmy Hunt though, quite a guy, even Kimi looks up to him and that says something.

    Coolest maybe, but not classiest.

All the old school dressed and acted with way more class than James Hunt, who purposely dressed the complete opposite to upset.

True, but isn't that the definition of class?? One who establishes the class?

Only Eddie has come close, but instead of class, he was crass. Kimi is a bore comparitively speaking, except for that striptease in London.
