another JEWELL...did they ever cleared WHY IN HELL they lifted Hamilton away INTO the track with DRIVER IN?...another one of those FIA buttons pressed long enough to turn them nuts in the race control room?

...or Hamilton skiping the apex on the chicane at Monza?

...thats one hell of a buzzer RD has in his desk...sometimes it sounds higher than Jean Todts buzzer then...

I'm so glad you posted this Andreas it just reinforces what I said on a previous post, Lewis Hamilton is very well trained and knows exactly how to buy the medias attention.

    You're welcome.

It wasn't a pretty sight that LH delivered in Hungary, but it showed on a different level that he has already the Macchiavellian aptitude you need to become a multiple WDC. Alonso, Schumacher, Senna and Prost certainly had it and this guy is no exception. I'm sure Ron was stunned to see the naked blade underneath the boyish facade.

Ha what, thats $37.5 an issue. I get almost ten car magazines and I only pay a little more than that combined for all of them for a year.
I'm protective of my Forzas and those are only $3 an issue. :D

I can totally understand what Hamilton did. Why should he sacrifice his race for the sake of a certain Fernando Alonso just because he is WDC?

He was leading the world championship and in the previous race (Germany) he had lost 10 points to FA.
I'm sure Monaco was still fresh in his mind . He felt like he could've won there but he was told not to push for the win.

If this was Ferrari and he was teammate to MS we all would understand but RD tells the whole world that his drivers are equal yet he told the press after Monaco that "It is what it is. It's not fair to Lewis but sometimes life is not fair"

Can someone please explain to me why Lewis Hamilton should play second fiddle to FA when both drivers are supposed to be equal?
Why should FA be given an advantage on a circuit where it's impossible to pass?

Only on certain tracks can a driver do an additional lap to save some fuel. Hungary was supposed to be Alonso's take on that. Silverstone is where that advantage was given to Hamilton. It was a team decision and LH crossed them.

You're right. I understand that part.

I am not arguing with you at all but all what I'm saying is that LH lost 2 points in Silverstone and 10 points in Germany to Alonso.
All what he was trying to do was not lose anymore points to FA in a supposedly fair team. Maybe there is something else between those two that we don't know of yet?

I like how Ferrari does it. Whoever is quicker in Q2 gets to pick the strategy.

+1 seems like RD has to put up with a lot of **** lately. Employees taking illegal data from a [then] Ferrari employee. Having to deal with Alonso's attitude about wanting everything to revolve around him. Then have the kid that you paid for, everything racing-related, bite the hand that you're feeding him with all because of his ego and thirst for money (dad included). Really sad after everything Ron had done for McLaren including their road-going section (F1 road car is my favorite car :)). I still hope Mercedes sells their share to a person to keep it as a privateer team.

I can't take the story seriously when only one publication prints it and nobody else finds something as serious as these allegations worth their time to follow up on. Based on the links below, it looks like F1's version of the National Enquirer. I did, however, find the "Wili Weber is a pimp" story funny...

The transcripts and the FIA/WMSC's decisions show that Ron Dennis and McLaren knew more than he let on when he first discussed the issue with the FIA.

I gotta laugh at this whole scenario. It’s played out like a bad movie from start to finish.

Latest thing is the FIA transcript of the proceedings first released with the sensitive words blacked out.

Anyone, and there were a few, that downloaded and saved the original transcript could by simply copying and pasting into MS Word see the original text that Mclaren wanted kept secret.

The FIA subsequently released another version with the words removed, but alas, a bit too late.

...Of both blacked out versions (didn't have the other when I started).

    Some observations:

Lowe (McL): We haven't looked at cars on cranes for awhile now...to determine the weight distribution. Translation: We don't have to since Stepney and Coughlan gave us this information in a more exact form of measurement...we have the documents and specs. wink wink wink ;)

Obsevation: they should have put the F1 hearing on TV. (Like the first OJ trial) would be more interesting than the races.

De la Rosa testified that they had Ferrari information as far back as March 22, 2007. they had set ups, weight everything. and the drivers aren't ecluded. Politics, pure and simple IMVHO.

McL actually record the sound of competiors engines to determine the RPMs to determine the speed at avaious parts of the track. But they had 700+ pages of detailed Ferrari information and nobody but Coughlan looked at it. And they put up a firewall at the office, but did not block the company laptop that he took home. Hmmmm.

McL's defense is we didn't see anything and we disn't ask anything so we are innocent of any wrongdoing. We have no responsibilty to run our business prudently or actually ask out employees any reasonable questions that any idiot wout ask. But we can give you numerous reasons why we didn't ask anything or do anything when we got the suspicious information. and the more information we got the less questions and less interested we became in the whole affair. (the FIA didn't buy any of it)

No explanation for why McL paid for Coughlan to fly to Barcelona to tell Stepney not to contact him any more. that's the meeting Coughlan received the 700+ pages of documents. As Mosley and Bernie said: if I don't want to talk to someone, it's not a problem. Why didn't McL have Coughlan write him a letter, send an email or just tell Stepney by phone? If Coughlan were working for me, I would have composed the letter, Coughlan would have signed it, and I would have mailed it (I have actually done this). Of course, you really have to want to solve the problem to actually do this. Anything less is pure BS.

After reading the transcripts I believe the drivers should be excluded from the 2007 WDC. Alonso knew. Even if LH didn't know he benefitted. Not fair to all the other drivers who didn't have the benefit.

McL was caught with their hand in the cookie jar with the cookie in their hand. They say they did not intend to eat the cookie. Right. they ate at least part of the cookie from the evidence that the public saw. Disgraceful.

Ron Dennis, Whitmarsh, Lowe, Alonso and Neal are slime. They should be banned from F1.

Please disagree with me AFTER you have read the transcripts from both hearings (july and sept)

    Forza Ferrari.

So now Ron is going to complain that FIA leaked details of the McRari to Spyker? ;)

No wonder they were so competitive at Spa. :p

I think that Jerry Springer should gather all the players in this saga without any of them knowing in advance and put them on his show. It would be a huge comeback for him and it would probably set some kind of record for the most watched or something. The best part of it would probably be the questions from the attending public. LOL ;)
