The Gazetto dello Sport says(speculates?) that the FIA will deduct points, and impose a two-race ban on each Michelin team. Hopefully on different race weekends...

    BS.

The FIA just stated today that they wouldn't do this.

The offending teams and Michelin will pony up 18+ million dollars in free USGP tickets next year and life goes on.

If this thread was true (I"m pretty sure its not).... Pitty poor Honda. They could miss 5 races almost in a row. FIA would be killing that team's season with rules.

Will I live to see the day when the FIA makes Ferrari sit out for 5 races?

Why does everyone say the boss of the FIA is a Ferrari fan?

Didn't BAR get caught red handed CHEATING, IMO they are lucky that the FIA didn't just kick them out of the sport all together. poor Honda is right, they should have pulled the engine contract from BAR for the complete discrace they are in cheating and making Honda look bad.

Honda Engineers are so creative & smart...that the technology and ideas they come up with
will test the red-tape pencil-pushers in the FIA in ways they never thought of.

Rules are necessary for F1 racing, but someone much smarter than I, once said "if your not pushing the rules just past the breaking point... your engineers are not trying hard enough."

I would be shocked if they give out any bans, that doesn't make sense.

They will probably fine them and they may take constructors point which amounts to another fine. I think 10 points per car would be about right.

I'm sure they'll leave the drivers points alone because the drivers didn't make the call not to race, they weren't given cars....plus the last thing the FIA wants to do is hand Micheal another championship.

    Fining Michelin - good idea.

Taking the Michelin teams points away - double penalty, totally unfair

The more I hear from the FIA, the more bizzare they seem to want the situation to become?

It's all a political game between Max Mosely and the top teams (Ferrari aside).

And let's face it, the Mosely family's political history is slightly more chequered than the finishing flag at an F1 Grand Prix.

They can't fine michelin, michelin isn't a member and doesn't race.

It was the teams who decided they wouldn't race because they could not be competetive against the bridgestone teams.....it's the teams that will be help accountable.
