Does anyone know how the old vintage FIAMM trumpet horns are disassembled? I picked up these trumpets - I want to see if I can restore them and use them on my '80 308. I have the snail-shaped horn on the car but I just love the look (and sound) of these FIAMM trumpet horns. I have not tested with my compressor yet. I am afraid this model looks to be a non-serviceable "sealed" model compared to the models that have backing screws.

(had to look at one of the archive threads to remember what I did)
Looks to be a hose fitting above each one of the trumpets. I just sprayed some light pneumatic oil in each one of those fittings and that’s all it took for the horn to come to life

Cool! I guess I need to be less worried about taking them apart - hopefully lightly oil and put some candy red on the trumpets. I need to find the y connector!

I slipped off the back plastic covers.....does the back metal unscrew to expose the brass(?) reed (or whatever you call it)?

How is this base collar removed? Your photos suggest to me possibly friction holds the collar and to slide it upward to expose the nut?

The collars are a friction fit and slide up

Thanks for the sharing the process - what is the paint (semi-transparent)? AND, where can I get a FIAMM sticker for my compressor?

Got my trumpets painted with the Dupli-color and I am impressed how "anodized" they look! Rob is correct that the horns need to be polished perfectly....even for this spray paint as it is translucent.

I bought the sticker for the compressor at

    https://autoricambi.us/fiamm-compressor-decal-30071/

I really wanted the black sticker but this white version from Auto Ricambi is the only one I see available. Now I need to find the compressor stored away on my parts shelf and get it cleaned and refurbished!
