It was quite a sight and it gave a very special feeling to be pleasantly suprised by seeing this icon of Ferrari-motorsport: The Fiat 642 RN2 Bartoletti truck. The truck was present at the Modena Trackdays 2015 at Spa-Francorchamps. My schedule was tight, but I did manage to shoot some nice footage of the truck and Jacky Ickx in its proximity. Enjoy!

    Thanks,
Great video. Sure looks like the one Richard Freshman/Fossil Motorsports had restored years ago that initiated the trend toward the recognizing of the transporters. Anyone know for sure which one it is and it's restoration and ownership history?

I wonder how many of you remember the Brockbank cartoon showing a dray horse in the rampant posture upon seeing the logos on this transporter?

Yes, the video shows the 642 RN2 ex Freshman/Beecham .

    Original plate MO 42629 - vin# 002989
Owned by Scuderia Ferrari from 1957 to 1965, then sold to Jolly Club team in 1966, resold to Tecno F1 Racing Team in 1970 that kept it till 1973. Found in bad conditions and blue painted in 1987 , and later auctioned in 1988 by Finarte.
Bought in partnership by Richard Freshman/Clive Beecham and restored by FGF of Modena. Sold in 1997 to Fritz Grashei (D) and exposed at the Technik Museum in Sinsheim (D), I ignore the actual owner if different.

As well known, the other twin 642 RN2 ( original plate MO 42628 - vin# 003002 ) is part of the Jon Shirley's Collection .

The picture shows the first one, when it has been found in a country farm near Milano in 1987.

    Ciao
