Fiat 850 Project For Sale California

I bought 2 spyders in high school for $300 bucks. Never really got them road worthy though!

I am glad to see they are going up in value!

 

When I was in the auto wrecking business in the 80's,the only part that sold on 850's was the Spidery looking exhaust system.once gone,the rest of the car just sat.It is a rather complex unit and I am sure would cost alot in the aftermarket(more than the car).When I got car in with a good pipe,it sold immediately.The Fiat network was small and well connected.Not many came in with good pipes,however. I always looked at the 850 as the worlds first disposable car.You drove it for 5-8 years and threw it away.They were fun while they lasted.

850 Spider headlights and door handles fit the Miura. Not much else worth keeping.

 

I remember going to the Seattle Auto Show in 1967, when I was 15 years old, and sitting in the new Fiat 850 Coupe. Boy, did I want one! The family car was a 1966 Plymouth Belvedere 4-door.
