Fiat calls its old Yugo factory its most advanced plant

    Yugo's old factory is now under Fiat's control, and they actually called it their most advanced facility they have:

    I think its actually kinda cool that Fiat sunk a bunch of money into the place and finally started to build real Fiats there. The factory had been building Fiats under license for a long time (ex: Yugo = Fiat 127). Now their making better cars with decent tools.

    With the way things are going in Italy between the Unions and Fiat, it is no surprise if Fiat invests heavily abroad.
    The factory is actually in Serbia and it will initially produce the 500L

    Yes, from what I hear/read the unions are supposedly out of control and with the global economy it don't take much to ship production out to another country. Throw in the euro/dollar exchange and its a no brainer...

    The name of the plant used to be "Crvena Zastava": "Red Star" in English.
    Hopefully Sergio has overhauled the name as well:).
