Hi Jay Congrats on your latest purchase..... What a great car. Are you on located on the east coast? You did very good on your purchase. As close to a Ferrari as you can get without having to spend half a mil. I know the pieces that you are talking about. They must come from an other Fiat model. I would suggest you post on Fiat Dino Forum (FDF) ? Index page and Fiat group on Yahoo. Cheers Olivier
Thanks Oliver, I have taken your suggestion and hopefully will have success. I do love the car and feel this car is a piece of rolling art as well as a good investment. I'm located in Bayville, Nassau County Long Island 11709.
Hi jay Yes I have a 2.4 spider in complete restoration process. Should be ready in the spring I am in virginia. There are about 6 or 8 2.4 that I know in the us. You choose the right car
Olivier, I had no idea there are so few 2.4 spiders in the US. Do you know where they are located and who owns them etc? Also I would like to put together the history on my car. I have some information - some bills for the mechanical resto over the last 3 years. Nothing on paint or interior. I have the names of the last 2 owners. Thanks Jay
Yes Jay these are pretty rare birds, Can you email me close up pictures of your car in your garage. [email protected] You figure that there are only 424 made, you got a good car and a fabulous color. That would most likely mean there are 325 left worldwide. These never imported back in the 70's all the ones that we see where either imported back in the 80's & 90's I imported mine last year from the UK. The history on these cars are very important and very hard to get once lost. Most of these were sold in Italy and migrated to in across Europe then trickle to US. 1 NY City in restoration 1 NJ Fully Restored 1 Northern Virginia 1 Va Coast ( Mine ) 1 NY State ( Yours ) 1 San Francisco 1 Los Angeles County 1 Florida for Sale ( Silver ) Those are the only one that I am aware of in the US.
At least three in SD county, my red one, a second red, and a dark blue one. The other red one MAY be a 2 litre. Malcolm
Olivier, My car is in a shop working on some issues found during the PPI. I am also doing some suspension work - bushings/shocks etc and since the engine is out and the suspension is apart I am having all powder coated/sandblasted/plated/cleaned where appropriate, consequently, No Pics. I did buy the car from exoticclassics.com Pics in Sold Inventory section - They have great Pics and close ups. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks Jay
There is going to be an announcement perhaps in next 24 hours about a big Fiat gathering in Pittsburgh next summer. Be there. IceBlue, was asking if the shop doing the metal restoration on your's in Tidewater because we have 3 Fiats and a Lancia in VA Beach. Lancia needs some welding. Don't know many shops there. My Dino story is when I just move into the condo I'm in now, I parked in the parking garage and hear a Dino engine singing its song entered the parking garage echoing wonderfully. Excitement growing hearing it come up floors trying to guess Ferrari Dino, Fiat Dino or Stratos. Comes around the corner and its a Fiat coupe and parks just across from me. Owner gets out and comes walk around my car and I go walk around his and we comeback in middle to talk. He still has it.
The guys here doing my metal work is euro finish. Great body and paint shop. Located on first colonial road. Contact name Is Phil. The paint job and attention to detail is very good. If you need special parts made I have a fantastic guy that I use he has been extremely helpful making door skins, fenders, inner rockers, air in take boxes. Again detailed oriented.
