Dear experts, Notwithstanding Matthias excellent Compendium the list of ridiculous and "OCD" questions continues to grow! As we are redoing the suspension on my early Dino 246 right now, could I ask how the fibreglass panels in the wheel arches are attached originally? I have found riveted brackets behind them, with an opening in the middle to take a fastener, but is the fastener a screw, a bolt or a rivet? Black or stainless? Washer or not? In the same vein, and as a result of reading the Compendium, is the area of the spare wheel in the back of the car, ie where the brake reservoirs and washer bag reside, enclosed by some fiberglass panel or is it open? I know that in the later models it is enclosed, but the area in my 1969 car is totally open. Both Matthias' 206 and L 246 seem to have an enclosure which I do not have. Thank you in advance for your help, and please, do not have me committed! Pascal
Hello Pascal, the bracket are of steel and have 2 rivets to attach it to the fibreglass. You need M5 zink screws (painted black with the fibreglass panels) to hold the fibreglass panels. You need to have a lid above your brake reservoirs. Attached pictures are for 206 GT and L-series. Regards Matthias Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Hello Pascal, thanks to Götz Seidel's kind help and his great photography, I have remade the enclosure you talk about and if in need of one, please send me a pm. The usual vendors only have the latter M and E version. Regards, Alberto
