I, for the most part, agree with this film review of the latest Bond movie. I also believe this latest 007 film is the best movie of this long-running film series. I was thoroughly immersed in the movie and its long run time seemed to evaporate far quicker than its actual elapsed time moved the clock. I look forward to seeing this movie again on the small screen.
Great movie, one of the best Bond movies. The best Bond for me is Casino Royale followed by Goldfinger, followed by No time to die. Therefore Daniel Craig has 2 movies in the top 3 in my opinion. What a cycle (D. Craig)! from the birth of 007 to his death. Looking forward to the next movie...
I'm the exact opposite. for me and my wife this was one of the worst. The complete lack of effort Daniel Craig put into this film rubbed off in a big way. The movie was too dark and bleak for it's own good. An enemy that lacked character and love interest that rightfully should be shot after her first few minutes. Some nice gritty action scenes but overall a very forgettable experience. Complete opposite from Casino Royale which to me was one of the best Bond movies.
Haven't seen it yet and will not watch it. Bond went down the toilet after Casino Royale and now it has become a franchise that is living too far past its prime on the fruits of the Name brand only. I think Craig is a fine actor and was actually a good bond in Casino royale. Unfortunately every movie after that one he played a robot and the charm was completely gone. It's now James Bourne, Jason Bond, oh wait, I can't tell the difference! And now it is woke bond black lady? LOL. What a joke. It's time for an author to create something completely new and start a fresh new story. James Bond is over and has been over for along time now. It was a good run, but now the brand is being completely destroyed in order to make a quick buck. Just make it stop already LOL
Hi guys! Just saw this movie. Not bad. (better than the previous movies, but not comparable to the older ones)Am I the only one who thinks that there is something wrong with today's movies? Or is it just nostalgia for the old times, I don't know.
Or perhaps we're getting 'old' and we don't 'get' the new 'woke' wind that's blowing through Hollywood. Like our cars; everything is becomming electric or hybrid. Gone will be the days of straight petrol... Than again, given the controversy regarding Marvel's Eternals and the new LOTR trailer, I could see this whole woke movement dyiong out as consumers clearly state their interest with their wallet's.....
I have to agree. As a life long bond fan, this movie was a huge disappointment. A counterpart/ other 007 was not a great actor and her action scenes were mediocre at best. I will say the Cuban girls scenes were much better. The B story felt very forced and the ending was highly disappointing. Don’t want to s-oil anything for anyone who hasn’t watched it.
I think by now everyone probably knows that the new 007 Is a black woman with a figure that would nearly make Kim K jealous…. As if she could ever dodge a bullit….. #noracist
I found her very unlikeable. The Cuban agent had good energy, feisty and great action scenes. The new 007’s were sub par for a 007
It is so good. As a Bond fan for decades, I was especially taken by the sly references to other movies in the canon (like the usage of John Barry's score from ON HER MAJESTY'S SECRET SERVICE...several key scenes revive the theme music from that film...so appropriate.) The handling of Blofeld, SPECTRE, the multiple Aston Martins of different vintages...even setting scenes in Jamaica very near to Orcabessa, where Ian Fleming took leisure in the Goldeneye estate to pen all the original novels. For REAL Bond fans, this film had it all, and then some. "We have all the time in the world." Ian Fleming's words live on in this film, and are even heard in the end credits via the Louis Armstrong 1969 recording for OHMSS. This is, basically, the single best film to appease a Bond geek who knows all the films, books, and soundtracks forwards and backwards. For everyone else...hey, listen to the Internet hype for/against...this one is not for you.
Fair enoug; to each their own. I judge 99% of films I watch simply by entertainment value; as I do with food. A good steak is a good steak. Regardless if it came from a Michelin Star establishment or the grill down the road. Same with movies; was I entertained or not. For me this movie barely kept me and the family entertained.
I have had the DVD for months now and still havent watched it. I remember when i used to count the years for each new Bond. The last 3 were total garbage., i guess that explains why im not in a hurry to watch this one. Maybe on the treadmill today.
This one was not their best effort. Daniel Craig for me is the best Bond so far. Yes there I said it but while this film started out okay they had to politicize it by bringing a "socially acceptable" black female "Bond." Ridiculous and totally made the film lose all credibility as well as hurt the legacy of 007 film making.
I gave up after Skyfall, that was the last straw for me. I actually fell asleep in the theater about half-way through it. I can only think of maybe one other time in my entire life that I fell asleep in a movie theater. It was WAAAAAAAY too long and drug on FOREVER. That movie sucked big time and don't get me started on the ending which was written by Macauly Culken. Easily one of the worst movies in that franchise. I liked all of the old one minus the Lazenby one and Diamonds are forever. That was Connery's worst. Connery was the best but Roger Moore will always be my favorite. I love Live and Let Die. It's probably because it was the first one I ever saw.
I just caught this on a plane a couple weeks ago and I thought it was very good. I like almost all 007 movies though so I'm easy to please. I plan to re-watch it on my home theater at some point.
