What a way to end a career - Troy Bayliss had a double win in the final round at Portimao (Autodromo Internacional do Algarve) in front of 91,000 spectators. The podium celebration was a sea of red with Ducati personnel and even one or two sporting red/white/green curly wigs. Troy Corser (Yamaha) finished second in the championship. Coverage was on Speed TV earlier today. I really like this circuit - lots of elevation changes. This was the first event for the new circuit; soon to be followed by A1GP, GP2 and can't wait to go to the LMS night race there in July. It would be a great place for an F1 race - track is definitely more interesting than the new street circuits and better than the sand races.

    Congratulations to Troy Bayliss for a great 2008- 28 races - 8 poles - 19 podiums - 11 wins.

    Three World Titles . . 2001, 2006, 2008.
