Well, after having discovered and fixed bad extenders, spark plug wires, one distributor in 180 degrees off, screwed up carb emission hoses, and mix and matched carb jets, she's just about running right, seems like i am down the fine tuning.

When i set the carbs up, I started with mix screws out 5 turns. Once I got everything mostly balanced, I had to take a few of them out to stop carb burbing, but in general i did not fiddle with them as the car was idling fine. Now I have 5 issues:

    1) the front right carb flows at 3.5, while the other 3 are at 3 even at 900rpm. Per Steve's recommendation i am going to try to bring the others up to 3.5 at 1k rpm.

    2) really sputters alot, with carb backfiring when started cold, but when warmed up it purrs like a champ with zero carb backfiring. why is this?

    3) still excessive popping on overrun, very pronounced. Also per steve, I am going to chase that down this weekend (air injectors or header gaskets)

    4) huge backfire when quickly upshifting at high revs, if i hold high rpms and shift slower, no backfire. Think this is related to 3), airleak somewhere, but could be related to richness?

    5) I am going through gas like a hog - seem to have to add gas twice as often. I am going to record mileage but I sure I am going through it twice as fast. Is this related to the idle mix screws being so far backed out, am I running rich? plugs reveal nothing notable, but they have only been in there for a few miles.
