Surprised there isn't a March Madness thread.

    Butler and UConn are in.

As a SEC fan I should be pulling for UK over UNC but I can't go against the Tar Heels.

I hate KU b/c Danny Manning beat my Sooners in '88...go VCU!

KU about to go down to VCU!

Not sure how I missed it; guess the lack of posts. Surprised not more interest.

I'll take Kentucky all the way. They are peaking.

Can't believe all 1 and 2 seeds have been eliminated.

    Great year for the tournament.

I lived in Richmond for a couple years so I'm going for VCU. My dad also almost got a job there but opted to teach at BYU instead.

How many wives does he have?

But seriously, for some reason Sports isn't really big here, except for a small handful of overzealots on the college football thread, where the same 4-5 guys comprise for 90% of the postings, a couple of guys from the SEC, a guy from the Big-12, and a nutcase in Boise... you cannot have a productive conversation with any of them because if you don't agree with them then you are branded an idiot..

Love you too. FWIW I have never said you were an idiot. We just disagree on everything sports. When people are dismissive of the teams I root for I have the right to defend. :)

Anyway this has to be one of the craziest Final Fours ever. I really like the coach for VCU. He has done what a coach should do. Should be fun to watch.

I apologize, really, honestly, I said that ONLY to see how long it would take for you to respond. It took longer than I thought it would.

I don't mind defending anything, but a person has to be able to admit when someone else has a better point on something, let alone if I am wrong on something. Hell, I'm wrong all the time, and I usually admit it. But some folks still argue the earth is not round.

Whisky it's all good. Most of the time my arguments are fill with complete jackassory. The reason why is I have long been a follower of Florida and I have always said I will root for them over any team at all times. However I am not an SEC pundant like most other fans of SEC teams (see Sparta49). When I moved to Boise almost six years ago I couldn't have imagined how far into the National spot light that program would be thrust. It makes it that much more intertaining to live here. When I went to the dirt BSU Fiesta Bowl before the game most of the Oklahoma fans were so nice (even to the point of having a bunch of us over to their tailgate). At that time it was kind of like supporting the 5'4" kid in the pick up game of hoops at the local play ground. Everyone was nice until they realized the kid could really play ball. I have had many conversations with my Florida buddy (of I had not met him 17 years ago I probably wouldn't root for Florida) about how unbelievable it is that mid-majors are rising up and challenging long established programs but that is why I enjoy it so much. I embrace all things new. I am loyal to the things I love in life and stick with my teams no matter what they are doing but when my team isn't impacted by what is going on I will root for the under dog because the big boys have pleny of fans. I root againts the Lakers, Cowboys and all other SEC teams because so many believe they are a cut above even if game results don't back that up. I also understand that the reasoning for this is completely justified and has been earned. So conclude this endless rambling the likely hood that I would root for a team (any team) that is considered an upstart is pretty good and if I sometimes don't get my point across in a timely manner it's only because I'm a better verbal debater than a written one. It's all for fun and I appreciate the banter supplied by this forum and I actually do respect all of the hard work that the big teams have put fourth to get to were they are and admire the loyalty of the fans for their teams.

    Back on track. GO VCU!!

I just don't like people that argue folks did 'nothing wrong', like all the issues with Ohio State football right now, even though it is documented you did something wrong, folks still defend them.

For example, I may like Ohio State, I may root for them, but I cannot defend them. That was my point.

I like USC, I sure as hell cannot defend them.
I don't care for Texas, but if they are being 'wronged' I WILL defend them.

No skin in the game; cheering for Butler but thinking UConn wins. Either way, hope it's an entertaining game.

I'm a short white guy, so I don't know or care about basketball.

but Connecticut sucks, and Butler is in Indianapolis which is a cool city because of the speedway. and I like Bulldogs.

    so I hope Butler wins.
