Bear in mind that he was romping away before the gearbox problem...so maybe his slowing down only makes him as fast as everyone else. Also, once in front maybe MW was pacing himself? *shrug* mysteries...mysteries.
I don't know. I'm not convinced, the onboard shots didn't look like he was short shifting to me in "2nd and 3rd" like they kept saying to on the radio. All it would take is taking it a little easier in a few corners to make sure Mark wins and the Ferrari/Mac stay at bay.
Please keep the Dave and Steve show going in the off season. It wouldn't be the F1 section without it.
just finished watching the race. finally. holidays and driving just have to go away. what a pain. anyway, kind of a boring race overall. It's over now. Webber had fastest lap and Schu had the quickest S3 time on the very last lap (odd right?) and the quickest MB team laps which he should tout proudly. No big otherwise. Moving on. He has been wise to strictly arrange the car for race pace as it clearly has shown for better part of the season. For this race, Schu had 37 quicker laps on Nico. Data is fun if nothing else right. Anyway, no one else on the field has this kind of measure over their teammate on race pace. Being an objective person, this type is data is more important to me than trivial crap like points for 7th or 8th place. The data is where the truth lies. I am a man of my word and I stated at the beginning of the season I would hold no bones regarding if Schu should retire. It is clear he has no business retiring if he doesn't chose to. W03 should be another year of growth and learning and I am sure W04 will be a real championship contender. I sincerely hope Schu remains to bring the fight where he knows how to bring it just as good as anyone ever has, at the front.
The Gift Win ruins the entire RB season for me. In fact, it ruins everything about F1, which has been reduced to nothing more than cheap reality tv that is so full of childish contrivances that nothing is important or relevant anymore. Junk racing at its highest level. What a farce.
It was a bit of a slow race, certainly didn't build up to what I hoped it to be. Most Brazilian GP's have been excellent, regardless of the result. Brundle said it correctly; Never mention rain ever again until it's actually there. I don't believe for a second Vettel had a gearbox issue, considering they had none over the whole season and he didn't actually short shift that often. Nevermind, at least Webbo got one win out of it... Shame Schumachers strategy didn't pull off with the so called 'rain' that was predicted, and the fact that Senna tried to live up to his late uncle's name of 'when people see me coming in their rear mirrors, they move over or I'll crash them out of the race' didn't exactly work either, it was more along the ways of ''Don't pass me, or I shall just cut your tires, *****''. Very sad to what looked to be a promising race for both of them. Vettel is ofcourse man of the season, with Button a close 2nd. Most entertaining to watch where MSC's starts and hunting down flash Rosberg who seemed to be much slower in most races. Shame MSC had more bad luck therefore finished behind him. Wait for next year...(again). Next year will be big for Hamilton. Will be very entertaining to see if Button will be able to beat him again as that'll seriously mess with his head.
Also, I must say, Alonso's overtake round the outside of Button was magnificent! Shame he lost the position later. I think this GP had the most overtakes outside the DRS zone compared to other tracks...
Or you could look at it as a subversive poke in the eye to those who look to " manage "F1. It does point up the need for someone to step up thier game, if only to keep RB honest.
Yeah, those pesky WDC points, what trivial crap they are! F1 should have judges like in ice skating to give best notes for most elegant sector times and such...
Agree driver of year was vettel with fred second. Ferrari horrific car on hard tires-they have their work cut out. Disappointment of year was webber-one "gifted" win all year in the best car is unacceptable imho.
When it comes to battling for 7th and 8th place it is absolutely trivial as a number of factors and downright luck play into things at that level. Nico has proven that his points advantage lies with his qualifying ability. Given similar situations Schu has been stuck in, Nico has most of the time proven himself unable to dig himself out. He is not capable of holding off faster cars or even cars slower than him at times. It's quite sad really. I dare you to prove me wrong regarding michael's race ability which is clearly superior. Anyone who buys into wdc points and what they mean this low in the field needs their head checked as they are just too much of a constant craps shoot. We'll see what w03 brings in terms of fuel load balance for qualy trim and balance in general so to not have such a two faced car as I believe Schu will further dominate Nico in this situation. Your perspective is one written out of hatred so it matters not as you wouldn't give the guy a fair shake regardless, let alone all the data and circumstance on earth. No worries, the data doesn't lie
