Larry- Sounds like you are not missing your HGTC 575M too much. That should be a very nice F12. Pick up the latest C&D (OCt 14). They did a track test on an F12 and a bunch of other cars. Scared themselves.

There was a thread where someone talked about 12k dollars to have it flown to you. Takes few days (for the entire transfer, ofc, the flight is one day) instead than a month.

Yeah, shipment is 1 month or more.

It's all about how much u value 12k dollars.

Hey Larry, i received that first primered pic almost a month ago. I was surprised how quickly my car moved along the assembly line after that. About a week later, i received an email that the car was complete. I logged into the Ferrari owners section and was happy to see that the pics of the chassis/body painted and a second one of the whole car completed were uploaded to the system on the same day. Like you said, there must be a delay in the online system.

My car is in a container about to reach here on October 16th. Cant wait!!! Once it ships from the factory, you will get more anxious and excited by the day. Been looking at the pics of my car online every day. As if something will change...lol. Losing my mind!!

Dealer provided me with the bill of lading for the container/vessel name. Its kinda cool. My car is accompanied by a 40 foot container with two California T's. They all arrive on the same day next week (Oct 16th).

Probably unload the containers the following Monday (Oct 20th). PDI here takes a day. Its killing me cause i have a business trip scheduled for October 28th. Hope i manage to get everything done before i travel. Otherwise, ill have to keep it at the dealer till i get back...

If you read that thread again, you'll see that at the end, you might save 2 weeks, perhaps less. I don't live in the states, so I don't have personal experience with having cars flown to the US for faster delivery. But I'd like to hear about your personal experience when you had your Fcar delivered a month earlier, due to having it flown in. I haven't heard about other saving that much time.

I don't know about everyone else here, but I for one could easily spend 10-14 days more and have 12 grand to use for something else. It's a no-brainer really.

I don't remember reading saving only 2 weeks. I remember saving almost one month. U sure it's the same thread ? I don't live in the States either so my opinion was based on what I read on that thread.

Given the average US purchase price, it's like 3% ... You wouldn't pay $103 instead of $100 to get something you desired a month sooner? I'm thinking that the average F12 buyer isn't struggling to make payments each month, so honestly they can likely afford the extra $12k AND whatever else you and I would find to spend $12k on.

The average US buyer makes 2k miles on his Ferrari and then sells it tryng to not lose more than 40k dollars.

If it's a limited edition he sells it trying to get the same money he spent.

Many or Most of the people who fly in their cars are "Ambassadors" and if a person is an ambassador for Ferrari, they must fly in their cars, that is so they are the first in our country to have the Vehicle. I do not know if there are Ambassadors outside of the USA ?

I've done the fly over and I literally got the car 2 days after it shipped from Italy. In my driveway. It cost $7k back then... I heard this was one of the fastest through the system- the stars just aligned. To ship it over would have been approx 2 months extra and I would have lost the summer of driving. It was worth it to me...

I don't have any data beyond just observing friends but I have seen some do this sort of thing and others keep the cars for years. I don't think what you are saying is really the average but I do think there are at least a decent number who are afraid to put miles on their cars. I feel badly for them because they are missing out on the best part of the car- driving it! :)
