When we took the factory tour in April, one of the guys on the tour was having his car built at the time. He asked the tour guide if she could track it down. As luck would have it, right at the end of our tour his car was just coming off the assembly line.

The tour guide allowed him to snap a few photos even though that is not allowed.

The funny part was my wife commented that the look on his face was like one of a father witnessing the birth of his first born son.

What a gorgeous boy Larry! :D

How long does it take at PDI ? Does your dealer do the PDI or is it done at FNA ?

we will see but I believe the cars go thru customs then FNA does a PDI normally ready for the dealer in a day or so then the dealer gets the car I believe FOW uses Applewood to pick the cars up and then normally within 24 hours the car is ready for pickup.. so the variable are the back log at customs then the back log a FNA (i do not think they delay the cars) then the backlog in the dealer getting the car.
In the past I have been told the car arrived and picked it up the next day..I have been at FOW when cars have arrived say mid day and the service department was instructed delivery would be in the morning or mid day etc..
The notice I got from my dealer was a message from FNA included a statement they hoped to invoice the car for october>.

    Larry,

It is so much fun following your order and delivery process. Your personify what makes Ferrari so unique. I officially have F12 envy! I see you have a cts-v in your collection. I sold mine to buy my 360 and LOVE it. Such different cars, obviously but the v's power was intoxicating. I suspect your F12 will give you that same power thrill with the magical Ferrari experience. Best of luck with your gorgeous F12. Send pics once you take delivery.

Agreed and it's reliability is bullet-proof. Other than regular maintenance like oil changes, tires, etc, mine was never in the shop in the nearly 4 years I owned it.

Not to seem over anxious but I did get one more step closer I got my VIN today for those who keep track of these things it is XXXXXXXX206605..
Interestingly the dealer got the update that the car was now status 90 but in actuality the car has reached the USA and is in customs . I am told that customs at the air shipping is MUCH quicker then customs by water ..???
I am told the car should reach the dealer within a day or two of being released from customs.. (FOW)..and we are planning for later this week...
I am installing a capristo Exhaust remote that the dealer will install while getting the car ready..I am told it will make the car sound very nice...

    tick...............tock............

So my F12 just got delivered Friday. I brought it home and it went back to the shop Saturday. Within 10 minutes of a saturday drive i received an engine control fault signal. The car is back at dealer and now other lights have popped up. Waiting for Italy to give them direction. Be prepared my friend. Literally went back the next day.

So sorry to hear that. Why does the dealer need direction from Italy? Have they tried diagnosing it themselves or is it because it is so new?

well that is lousy.. I hope they get it fixed quickly.. I wonder if the battery got run down I know they do screwy things with low battery voltage.. but I assume the dealer check voltage.. ..

Larry this is great and congrats. Just to let you know after about 250 miles and likely due to me not keeping it on the tender, my battery had to be replaced under warranty. There is a lot of electronics running on this car when the car just sits. My suggestion is if the car will sit for 3 or more days just plug in the tender.

    Looking forward to the pictures.

Still waiting dealer is expecting it this week the car did arrive New York nov 1 ... Maybe by the weekend.....
THanks for the battery info.. One advantage I will have is I will pick it up and immediately drive it 200 mi home.... So the battery will get a good charge...ought to be a interesting day driving the scud up then leaving that for service and driving the f12 home...
I must admit my FOW sales man has really been great...
