Micha, I would like to help but I have not had my Euro 308's rear bumper off since I painted the car 6 years ago. Do you have the parts manual for the car? Sadly, it doesn't help much. Do you have the US bumper off? How does it mount? You may need to fabricate mounting bits - or buy them from someone like TRutlands who (used to) have parts cars.

I did this swap about 3 years ago. The bumper bolts onto two rectangular plates at the end of the mounting struts. You need skinny fingers to reach the nuts. The hole spacing is different between US and Euro bumpers. For the front I fabricated new brackets. For the back I just ovaled the holes in the required direction with a rat tail file. To figure out where it needed to be I put a dob of grease on each stud and held the bumper where I wanted it; then used the grease spots to mark the holes.

Another thought, if you have cats, you will want to fabricate a heat shield to protect that fiberglass bumber.

My replacement was on a '79 US with a '79 Euro bumper.

Sorry to stray off-topic here, but from that photo, I see that you're running strictly with (generic, aftermarket) cats and no mufflers. Correct?

I'd like to know how loud that set-up is and how well it works to cut-down on emissions (you pass your annual tests with ease?).

    Please PM me. Thanks.
