I have been a forum member for about 10 years basically since finishing college. I went thru literally a dozen corvettes and a couple of SL's all the time wanting a 360. In that time we moved to 6 different states, had three kids and life kept trucking on. Last weekend in Laguna Beach i saw a few 360's and my wife said. Life is short, why no get one now

Fast forward 6 days and one was in my garage. I kept looking for the past few months.

I found a local car here in the Los Angeles area

    1999 F1
    Red/Tan with Red Piping
    Challenge grill
    Shields
    Electric Seats
    Leather Headliner

FULL documentation (I am talking everyhting that has ever been done and it was meticulously Maintained never missing a service of spared an expense

New Tires/ F1 Pump, Power Steering Rack and Water pump. Major belt service in March of 2013

    16k miles

It was EXACTLY what i was looking for. And what a joy so far. Put 200miles on it this weekend and took my 5 year old and 3 year old out on trips. Interesting looks you get with a 3 year old passenger LOL

Anyway here she is. What a joy to own and drive. Heres hoping to lots of trouble free miles. Only thing it will need is a clutch as it is at 30% and i will likely upgrade the TCU at that time. Car is 100% stock, ever a single modification just like i like it

Robert, you have a very understanding wife. I had to get divorced and retired to buy my first Ferrari. Now I have a new wife who shares my passion! You're very lucky to have many more years than I to enjoy the passion that is commensurate with owning a Ferrari.
    Enjoy it in good health.

I commiserate on the divorce thing. My second wife thought I was mad buying two old Triumph TR4s to restore to one good one. It really pissed her off when I ordered a boatload of replacement parts from the UK. Needless to say that didn't last long and she was long gone when I won best in class two years in a row at a local British Car Days concours.
My third (and I always tell people she is not my third wife but my last wife :) ) is very understanding. When ever I feel the need to change cars I just tell her in advance -- "there may be a Jaguar or a Ferrari in our future" and leave it at that.

Thanks everyone, its so exciting to have finally checked this box. This is the EXACT car i have wanted for a good 12 years or so since i was newly out of college, model, color etc.

I was looking for a 6 spd so i felt i was compromising there but now after three days of driving it i have learned how to engage everything so it is very smooth and i actually am happy I have the F1 (We will see how the reliability is though)

Is it really worth swapping it to a newer TCU - honestly i am more than happy with how it shifts. I would only pay to swap if there was a significant change in clutch life. I also like that the car is 100% original

Keep the original TCU, but I can't imagine upgrading it wouldn't be a plus to anyone looking to purchase it someday!

Congrats. Got my 360 spider on fathers day. Only a few minor glitches so far...fuel gauge and AC of all things but selling dealer has stood behind car. I still can't believe mine is in my garage. Wife has ridden along going....well REALLY fast! Enjoy.

I just purchased a Black 04 360 spider F1 last week. The car has challenge front and rear grill, power Daytona seats that are tan and black (I don't know the proper term for the mixed seat color), and a Tubi Exhaust. The car has 18,000 miles. I have only driven it about 150 miles so far. This is my first Ferrari. I live in Morris County New Jersey. I have a question about the sticky buttons. What should I do to remedy the situation? Is this something that a regular person (I do not work on cars, I just love to drive them) can easily fix? Does anyone know a good shop in the northern New Jersey area to fix this problem?

    The car is amazing...

    Jeff
