So it's been a little over 4 years with this car... getting it to the point where it's restored and ready to drive. I've had more frustrations with this car than I think any other car I've ever worked on before and it's kind of surreal that the day finally came where I was "done." I still need to refurb the window motors, do some cosmetic work on the engine and also the interior before it's REALLY done, but mechanically this car is SOUND. And now I finally get it. I've watched numerous videos before and after I bought this car talking about how amazing it is to drive. I honestly didn't think it would be that amazing. I felt like it was probably just over hyped. But I'll be damned. One VERY short trip in the car (I don't have a plate for it yet) and I get it. It is a GLORIOUS experience. I felt like I was going 100mph doing 40. It's just incredible. Thank you to everyone on here that has helped me with this car, I certainly couldn't have done it without the vast knowledge on these boards. And thank you to Brian Crall for fixing the major issues with the car, which were many. Here it is now as it sits... what a beautiful thing. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Dude you pulled the engine, fixed the transmission, replaced the valves... you got the car running hehe... maybe you have me confused with someone else.
“I felt like I was going 100mph doing 40. It's just incredible.” I agree, one of the best parts of owning a 308, the car makes you feel like you are going much faster than you actually are. Outside appearance must be the same, the car looks like it going faster than is actually is as well. There are walkers on the Main Street outside of my subdivision and they are constantly asking me to slow down. When I look at the speedometer, I’m only going 40.
