Thanks for the kinds words guys. I've been collecting for about 10 or so years now. About 3 years ago I sold off all my non-F-Car models and decided to collect Ferraris exclusively (except the Batmobiles ;) ). ferrari4evr1 - I've only got the dino 206 racer in 1:43 (not sure who it's made by though) I can snap some pics, if you like...

that's a nice setup. a very nice way of displaying a lot of big 1/18 models without taking up a ton of space. cool.

WOW. I just made myself a new office in an unused bedroom in my house, and I was thinking about getting some display cases for my 1/18th scale cars. Where did you get those cases?

The 1:12 cases I orderd directly from Autoart... http://www.aa-collection.com/cgi-bin/autoartshopping/scan/fi=products/st=db/sp=results_accessory/co=1/sf=prod_group/se=accessory/op=rm/nu=0/ml=5/tf=sku/to=x.html?id=GzEeNvIF

The 1:18 scale cases are from Carney Plastics... http://www.carneyplastics.com/

This is a link to the exact ones I have: http://commerce.idmi.net/ecommerce/catalog_detail.asp?CID=123&CI=406&PI=7820

The folks over at Carney are top notch. Great price, great product. Well packed, and you get a tracking number when they ship. Just a top notch company.

Fantastic! I'm ordering a few this evening. How do they mount on the wall?

They come with mounting hardware... they have anchors that go in the wall, and then sheet-rock screws that mount the cases to the anchors...

On the first two cases I used the anchors, and then decided that I didn't need them, so the other two are just screwed in to the sheet-rock. They hold just fine, no issues with weight...

Another nice feature is: They come with rubber washers (for lack of a better term) so that when you are screwing the cases to the wall, it doesn't crack the acrylic/plastic mirrored back. The first case I got (years ago, not from Carney) didn't have these and over several moves I've gotten cracks around the holes in the back from tightening down the screws...

Roy, How did you attach the models to the wall? Looks like the big Lego F1 car and ??? I'm interested in attaching some of my models to the wall (or maybe even the ceiling) like that - but need a clever way of attaching. Something rather "invisible", preferrably....

    Thanks!

I measured out the distance between the two wheels and then set it at the angle I wanted it on the wall. Then I just used a couple of small picture hanging nails and tacked 'em in about 1/2 way. Thusly leaving enough nail sticking out for the inner side of the wheels to rest on. Looks pretty good, IMO, and you have to look to see the small nails that hold it up... The big one is the Lego 1:10 F1 car and the small one is the Lego 1:24 F1 car... Both of the cars are light enough that it holds without issue. I don't know if such a solution would work for a heavier die-cast 1:18 car... haven't tried...

Yeah, they Jay Koka is signed by Mr. Koka. I also have a poster signed by Stanley Rose, but it's in a tube in the closet (so many posters, so little wall space :( ). The Saleen S7 poster is signed from Salleen to me, that's the only reason it is on the wall in the Shrine o' Ferrari. Glad you like the display, I've been collecting for a while and it's nice to have a suitable display for the collection finally. My wife was commenting that it looked like a model shop and/or a museum in there.

Sadly, the playmate book has no articles. The only thing to see there is highly air-brushed nude playmates. It's a rough job, but someone's got to look at it. I consider it a reference material. For example, in the movie Under Seige they have "Miss July '89" in the movie... They gave her a different name, but I checked the book, it really is Miss July '89. FWIW, I got the book as a graduation gift when I graduated highschool some years back...
