It is unfathomable to me that a Ferrari dealer that probably does $50-100M per year in sales would want to ruin their reputation over $1500. It was also unfathomable to me that a Ferrari dealer could sell a car as CPO that was in such poor condition without disclosing any of the damage, but here we are. Oh, and they also increased the price back to $134.9k, lol
Sorry you had such a bad experience, unfortunately whilst dealers care about their reputation and we know your side of the story, I’m not too surprised... worst case u lost $1500 which is a lot but imagine what else could have happened. The warranty also never covers everything so maybe U dodged a bigger bullet, that’s how I’d look at it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I'm not surprised they tried to screw me either, that's why I kept asking about the $1500. It's not the money I care about it, it's the principal that a branded dealer should stand behind their product. I sent an email to the sales guy Philip on August 18th pressing him about it before they picked up the car, he told me GM would get back to me. I sent another email on September 3 about it before they sent me the checks to make sure the $1500 was going to be included, he tells me GM will get back to me. Of course the checks show up without the $1500. It is now September 16. This is the first I have heard from the GM since mid-August when I spoke to him on the phone and they agreed to take the car back. Zero communication from the GM for a month despite my repeated attempts.
Agreed - sadly seems that they have that we are too good to be dealing with used sales car issues kind of attitude acting like you are beneath them. It’s sad but I have seen this attitude from F dealer before. Just because you spent just 100k on a car shouldn’t have them treat you differently than a 812 customer. Of course it’s theory, not reality but if they were smart they would think one day u would be getting The brand new one from you and have you as a loyal brand customer, unfortunately they don’t think like that it seems. I cannot stress enough how amazing of an experience I had with Kat @ Continental (and I'm in Hou TX) I probably sent a gazillion texts, she sent me multiple high def videos and TONS of pictures We spent weeks back and forth on emails, she put NO pressure on me what so ever I *hate* dealing with dealerships and sales people. I speak highly of only two sales people. Kat from Ferrari Continental. Mary from Lexus of Westside. I am so sorry for your experience @dgoldenz94 it truly hurts my heart to hear negative stories about Ferrari, I know we all had Ferrari posters on our walls growing up
This is my first Ferrari purchase and given the way this has turned out, it very well may be my last. I am in sales myself and know the game. I have bought many cars and understand the ins and outs of everything, that is why I kept all of this documented with emails, pictures, and videos. The sales guy repeatedly dodged my requests for a full walkaround video or Google Duo call (Android's version of FaceTime) so I could see the entire car before they sent it. He kept telling me that because he has an Android phone and I have an iPhone that a video file was too large to send. I asked for a Google Duo call three separate times before they shipped the car. He kept telling me he could do it, and then it never happened each time. If I were the GM of a dealership and had a pissed off customer that was returning a car because of its condition, I would make sure I was on top of the whole thing every step of the way. That is the complete opposite of what actually happened. He either repeatedly dodged my communication requests, or the sales guy never actually told him that I wanted to talk to him despite telling me on several occasions that he did. The first week of September I was told the GM was on vacation Saturday through Monday for Labor Day, yet he never called or emailed me until today, 9 days later. I asked the sales guy for the GM's email address on Thursday last week and never got a response, so I found it myself online and sent the GM an email asking about the $1500 on Friday. No response. He read my email twice on Saturday (I have software that tracks whether emails have been read or not). No response. I figured I would give him until Monday. He read it again on Monday, no response. I email the sales guy saying what's the deal? He tells me they are both "aware of the situation and waiting for a reply". I said waiting on a reply for what? He is the GM and makes the decisions, is he going to send me the $1500 or not? That was the last thing I was told before the GM emailed me this morning that I posted above.

No, I knew they were there but assumed these were things that could be fixed and the dealer would take care of it. They didn't want to pay $7k to fix the damaged fender and there was no way to fix the interior at all. I am not a leather expert and did not realize that someone had already dyed the interior once and therefore it could not be done again. It took me about 7-10 days to arrange having all of this stuff looked at by the experts.
Any leather can be fixed it's just a matter of cost, it has to be stripped down to take all the dye out and you basically start again, all the dye needs to come out so you get a good even finish. It's expensive but, the great thing with leather is you can basically fix anything it's just a matter of time and of course time is money. Good luck with getting it picked up, it's not a great feeling waiting for someone to fix something they shouldn't have done in the first place
Two different leather specialists that work on exotics told me it can’t be fixed. They said stripping the dye would potentially cause permanent damage to the leather, and it would be impossible to get the dye out of the white stitching and near impossible to dye it without turning all of the stitching blue. Neither shop would even give an estimate, they just told me they won’t touch it. At this point I don’t have the car anymore so it doesn’t matter
@dgoldenz94 make an offer on my car, at least I'll send you high def videos of it haha - 2016 13k miles I think I want a unimog now.
I’ve had my share of unpleasant dealings with Ferrari dealerships doing PPI’s for me on remote purchases. In 2 cases, even with clear evidence of overlooking areas I specifically asked to have checked, they refused to take any responsibility for not identifying issues. Unfortunately most luxury car dealers are staffed by unsophisticated contemptuous people.
Would you mind naming those dealerships? Pls PM me if it's not a good idea listing them out in the open. Thanks in advance.
CPO is a gimmick imo. I know of a 911 GTS that should have been an auction car wind up at the local Porsche dealership as a CPO car. CPO may have started out differently, but it’s nothing more than an extra warranty where they give you the illusion that you’re not paying for it.
Dealers will pedal anything they can get away with, it's about knowing what to look out for and holding them to account
If I posted the condition of a 7k mile cpo car you would be horrified but, they took the car back and collected at their expense so I don't want to post the name, it is kind of meaningless besides the limited items covered by the warranty
Exactly, I asked if it had had any body work. The dealer said just the front end for stone chips, I then got the car back and put it under high powered lights and got the paint gague out. It had every panel sprayed besides the engine cover lid and the rear roof cover, this was a 458 spider with 7k miles on
