So, quick message as I'm just back home after a very long day, to say that I have now joined the ranks of Countach Ownership! 1987 Euro DD QV, red on black, LHD and 53000 ish clicks. It's been an interesting journey coupled with a bit of luck thrown in for good messure. But I am very happy and looking forward to a long and passionate affair. I'll post up more details in due course and will be asking for help along the way. The car is not perfect and I will be looking to sort out a few issues. She'll shortly be off to see Mike Pullen for him to give her some tender loving care. I've travelled through 4 countries today, Holland, Brussles, France and UK via air and road. Am now in need of my warm bed, if I can sleep due to the excitement coursing through my veins. Roll on tomorrow morning! Cheers Rob Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Good spot sir. I've got pictures of the car going back to 2005 and the duct is body colour then. This car was registered in 1988, although chassis dictates its a 87 build. I know some anni's have the duct painted body colour. So I'm not sure if this is from the factory or not. Joe / Roy, was this an option? Rob
Congratulations!! The NACA duct on a QV was always satin black from factory production, but really, that's a simple fix. FWIW all 25th Anniversarios have the NACA duct in body color. Enjoy in good health!
While you're doing the satin black remember the diagnol black stripe near the rear side window/radiator air box - 80% of CT re-paints forget this detail.
OK, so black NACA duct it is ! Which I was going to do anyway, as I prefer this look. I'll add it to the list. For the sharped eyed, you may have notice that the gear knob is not original. Are these still available? R
This must be the car which was auctioned in the Netherlands a few weeks ago. The car was in the Netherlands since new (April 1988) and was seized by the government 2 or 3 years ago.
Beautiful car. Love the color. You have joined a rare group. How rare you ask? There are approximately 7,200,000,000 people in the world....but less than 2,000 Countach. To put it into perspective there's only a 1 in 3,600 chance of currently owning a Countach.... Chances of getting struck by lightning are 1 in 3,000. Given the choice, I am happier being in the former group rather than the latter.
Thanks for the kind and supportive messages. The car is indeed the auction car from the Netherlands. And i was not even the higest bidder. But, thats a story for another time. So, i feel even more fortunate to have been given the opportunity to become the cars next custodian. Rest assured, I love her already and she will be cared for and well maintained. But above all, she will be driven!! Cheers Rob
Hey M8, Drive it like a truck around town, in order to save the clutch life. Enjoy the ride. nice car.
Congrats! Nice to have another one in the UK as too many are getting exported. Let me know if can help with anything Regards Paul Glasgow UK
The ORIGINAL one is not available from Lamborghini. They sell a reproduction with incorrect material and stitching. I have a few originals. PM me if interested.
