After years of waiting, four years of serching, monthes of investigation, weeks of inspecting, last monday I made my move to buy my second Ferrari...

Many threads here that I posted regarding the Testarossa this past weeks, Thank you for all responds. The decisions were hard. But I am sure it's the right one. There were three to choose from; 1) 86 Testarossa, 26,000 miles red 2) 86 Testarossa, 10,170 miles, black 3) 85 308 QV, 10,100 miles, red.

After a long inspections, I had to go with the one with best mechanical condition, not cosmetics. So the black one was the one And the color will be changed later. For about $100,000 US I paid, I got one heck of a good solid car that nicely kept, in other word, garage queen. I might be having hose issues coming but that better than machanical problems of the other red Testarossa.

It sure is a great supercar, the Testarossa. I now know what they mean by the Grand Touring. It's a nice, grand feeling within a comfort zone, yet traveling at rocket speed... The more I look at it the more I love it... thank you for the advice guys...

    That is awesome, congrats!

The red carpets look great & I really like the red stitching in the interior - I have never seen that before on a TR!

Thank you very much, I have it for a day and driving it for a couple hours, starring at it... It really got a great shape. But to my style, the black tends to hide out all the lines and features of the shape. Sorry I couldn't accept the black. The car is now at Ferrari body shop for color change respray. It should be done in a month. But it sure is the most beautiful car I ever owned. IMO, the 308 and the Testarossa are the most gorgeous in shape and body style for the modern Ferrari era ( except the super Ferrari range, of coures ). It drives so great. I think I'll keep this as stock as possible. May be test pipe and that's it. OR, may be the muffler, I notice there are four of them, two for each banks. May I will bypass the smaller two with stainless steel pipe and keep the big center mufflers stock. Anyone done this? How is the sound? any improve?
I will be sure to keep you posted on the upcoming of my Testarossa make over....

Are prices higher outside of the US? I think the highest price TR I've seen is $85K US. Nice car by the way.

    At last! :D

And it least the interior will still go nicely with rosso red bodywork.

Would've been a bummer if the perfect mechanical one had been blue with blue leather!

Are they going the clean the engine bay and get that looking like new too... one of the advantages of any major work on a Ferrari... the engine usually comes back nice and clean.

Looking forward to seeing the pics once it has been done.

Beautiful car!! But I really think you have decided too fast to change it from the beautiful and rare colour black to the colour that 96% of all TR's have, red. Why not wait a year, then decide.....
