So our testarossa got struck by the infamous broken diff last year and here goes my whole story...
We bought our tr in October 2011, drove it on Sundays just for a cruise through the mountains, there was a slight whining noise and sometimes it struggled to change gears . After a little less than two months and 400km's some oil started coming leaking at the rear of the car

We took the car to our technician wo have been working on Ferrari's for over 20-30 years and were told it was the diff seal that is leaking and that is not a major problem( the leak that is). They then proceeded to check the gearbox and disaster struck. While draining the oil, the metal pieces came out, the gears were chipped and the diff was broken. After searching everywhere for the gears and diff we found it here in South Africa. The price we paid was a bargain in comparison to advertised prices on ferrari parts places. While the car was standing in the workshop along with several other Ferrari's and Lamborghini's we had the cam covers resprayed with original Ferrari paint, got new gaskets and re-did all the non-original paint. We also ordered the clips that screw into the cams and the air intake rubber from eurospares

The car has not got the original wheels and the skirtings are painted red. The drivers side seat is scuffed a bit and the radio is not original.

    Some details about the car:
1985 was the date of first registration
    1984 was the production date
    66000 km on the clock

Overall we love the car and it was my fathers dream to own one. Every time we drive it the police come to us and everyone is waving and smiling.

Please note that I'm not English and I'm only 16.(it's my dads car)

Congrats and she looks great.. Just be careful youngster.. When you finally get behind the wheel don't try to get laid on the first date.. The TR takes some time to get used to.. If your cocky she will b*tch slap you six ways to sunshine.. I know shes hot.. You just have to control yourself.. She let you know when you have the green light..

Why is it that when our cars are out for service, each day feels like a week! Ugh! Glad to her she's back home. Now go do some driving!

    Thanks for all the comments
I think it will still be a while until my father lets me take her for a drive.

On the day we went to collect her my dad organized a ride in a Lamborghini Gallardo for me and I must say its quite a bit faster but it won't make me smile like the Testarossa is doing.

I will upload pics of the whole process I just have to transfer the photos to my iPad

    Jesse,
I hope you take good care of that TR...and of your father. :)

I'm just surprised that an early TR is without its flying mirror.

Also the lower part in red rejuvenate the car a little compared to mine that has the black lower section...Mmh.

We bought the car with the double low mirrors and will change it to original IF we sell it which is highly unlikely.
