As you guys know I sold my BBi earlier this year and when delivering it to the ferryport for collection by its new owner a m8 travelled with me and took some video footage. Its taken a while to get some clips converted to jpeg but finally have it done. I have had several requests for soundclips of the car by owners interested in changing their exhaust systems, and hopefully you can now get a better idea of what a BBi sounds like on the move when fitted with a Bell. The clips are uploaded to youtube, just click on the links to view. There are two new ones under my user name, will have a third soon, maybe later today.
    Regards
    Steve

Steve, I woke up this morning feeling great. Then I watched as you drove your Boxer for the last time. Now thanks to you, I am sad. My day is ruined.

Life can be cruel. Sell your home, sell your driver, sell your family, but one must always keep their Boxer.

    But thanks for the video anyway. :}

It was a sad day Ron. I knew I had made a mistake, that is why I bought another one, 512BB, although frustratingly I have'nt driven it yet, have it in storage until after christmas when I will get a major plus belts done.

Yes, shortly after I read this thread, I had the car detailed and drove up and down I-95. Love those exit ramps.

But then, you live in Arizona, and I live in Florida. Whoa is us. Sunny, zippo humidity, and about 79 degrees this morning for me. Like the song says, "it doesn't get much better than this".

The sound is so much better than my Borlas. Looks like the choice is Bell or Larini.

Wound up doing a short drive after coffee this morning. Like you said the weather could not be more perfect!!!

I was going to take the 512TR out but after seeing the video of Steve pulling out of the garage I knew what to take:)

steve...that is the way a boxer should sound!!!!!! that made my ansa sport system sound like a cadilac.

there is no question that the bell is the best option for the bbi...a tubi is not even in the same league in sound quality.

the hairs on my arm are still standing!!!!

    thanks again steve.

Thanks Gary, if I remember correctly you were going to buy a Bell system but bought a larini instead, did you keep it?

Ask GaryReed Ron, he seemed to think the Larini is too quiet!

So which one did you take m8? the red one or the red one, I would have two if I could too

Welcome Peter, just sorry I didnt take some more footage during the two years I owned the car, The BB I have bought also has a sports s/s system fitted but I am not sure what it is, will be getting a major plus belts done after christmas and will check it out then, very possible it is a Bell as they are highly regarded in the UK.

Thanks, the garage is pretty ok, door is 8 ft wide but garage is 12ft6" wide and 40ft long, at the rear it is 18ft wide and I have a 4post lift there, looks very deceptive from the front of the house as I had the garage extended to house the Ferrari, at same time the rear is built higher to take the garage lift. I can easily fit three cars there

    I intend to Steve

One more video just as I set off on my last journey in the BBi, was a perfect spring morning, dry and cool but I may have woken up some neighbours as it was 7am. Excuse the noise of the diesel fiat, but my friend who was filming decided to leave his van on tickover, can still hear the car quite well though.

Wow Steve! I’ll say you can hear it quite well!
I need to go buy a camera and see if my BB sounds as fantastic!
And true it seems difficult to photograph the cars well as, at least for me, they always look sort of fat. But the video seems to show them as the low mean machine they really are!
Now if I can get Peter to run the camera,,,,,

I agree, for some reason they look shorter and higher in photos, but on video they look more lifelike in profile. It would be great if some of you guys would take some film footage of your Boxers, I am just sorry I never made the effort with the BBi when I owned it. I have the Pantera almost 5 years and same there. I am gonna buy a good film camera after christmas, they are cheap these days.

    Gary
as a matter of interest, what did your Boxer make on the dyno?

Gobs of torque at the tires. 286 ft-lbs. But it seemed a bit lower on the horsepower than I would have expected. 263 HP

The engine will probably be coming out this winter for a major (timing belts) service. I'll put it on the dyno again in the spring to see if the HP comes up after the servicing.
