I've heard generally poor reviews of the Quicken Essentials for Mac. Investments being the most lackluster of it's feature set. Up until now I've been keeping my old windows laptop alive for months strictly to run my old Microsoft Money (2000!) program, but I'm finally tiring of the redundancy of a second computer.

I've heard Quicken was perhaps releasing a Deluxe version for Mac in 2011. I'm just wondering if I should suck it up and go with the maligned Essentials or hold out for a better version? Is Essentials really useless?

I've tried Mint.com and it's not for me. I actually prefer manually entering transactions to the more autonomous style of gathering data. Not to mention it can't connect to my ING accounts.

    Any experience/recommendations are appreciated!
