14 MPG combined? I get a little better than that.

But really. Who REALLY gives a ****?

I'd drive mine with the biggest grin on in the world :) even if it got 14 gallons to the mile.

Not very, based on the cars I've owned in the past.

But these days, my mileage is more limited by the town traffic lights than the car.

I drove about a month ago from Edmonton to Calgary 296 km on 80 litres, then stretched her leggs out and used about 35 litres on the drive back, still running a little rich now but will go thru it soon.

Ross that's a little hard to believe. I really hadn't given a rats a** since that's not what it's about. Even though I've been an owner for ten years and never cared, now I'm going to keep records.

I gotta believe my 456 gets the advertised MPG.

Not quite sure how a guy with a 1992 F40 yearly costs are greater than me with a 1991 F40. Maybe he drives it faster. Still its listed as the same mpg. So much for these government green party surveys.

its the truth ! however, i will grant you that most of my mileage occurrs in town, going to and from the office 2.5 mmiles away, during ruch hour traffic. hence the car never gets up to operating temp, and then just gets shut down. last year when i went on a 2000 mile roadtrip around italy, i got an avg of 14mpg in switzerland and france, and about 12mpg in italy (where my average speed was far higher). its just the in-town mpg that sucks but thats unfortunately where it spedns the most time now.

This morning I saw this huge Ford F350 extended bed pick up truck being driven by a women who looked to be about 5 foot tall weighing 90 lbs. She was driving out of a Starbucks (the drive through no less) and holding her morning cup of coffee in her left hand while steering with the other.

Of course, she was alone. This thing she was driving is about the same length as the Titanic. It can't get more than 10mpg around town. I've seen work trucks and this wasn't one. There wasn't a scratch on it.

I saw this and I wondered, how many thousands and thousands of behemoths like this has Ford, GM, and Chrysler built over the years that are being used the same way every day? I'm not opposed to a guy using his big ol' truck for his trade or business. If you need a truck to work, that's fine. But, why buy it as an everyday people transporter to get groceries and drop the kids at school?

Can we all do our part? Yes. But, let's look at where the real waste is, not just a perception.

Anyone who complains about exotic cars are just a waste of gas should really vent their anger at where the real cultprits are.
