I've exhausted my resources and the sites like zabasearch. Short of hiring a PI, is there any way to get the email address or phone of a friend I haven't heard from in 4-5 years? Her name is Larissa Federova (or Fyodorova or Fedorova - but most likely Federova). Not sure how it was translater from Russian. She lives in PA, is married, and last I knew was studying to become a doctor, taking some "USME 1" test or something? I do not know where in PA she lives, only that it's not within a large city - at least she said it was quiet. She would be around 29 yrs old now. No bad intentions in looking for her - we were very close about 6 years ago but sort of lost touch. I got tied up with work, I never had her new address in PA, and she didnt have my new Boston address. Only had each others emails. Mine changed, and when I got around to emailing her, turns out hers has changed too. I emailed her parents but the email bounced back. Short of going to her parents home in Russia, I have no other way to get in touch and say hi. Any suggestions? Its not critical but I'd like to see how she's doing these days and also make sure all is OK - maybe just me but I was a little worried when all the emails bounced. Her dad owned a pretty good sized company in Russia so I can't understand why the email would suddenly be disabled (all addresses undeliverable) at his company.
If you don't find her, here's another Russian girl with a very interesting web site concerning the Chernobyl disaster and other things in Russia. http://www.elenafilatova.com/
If you do find an address or a social you could try a title search.. Maybe with the new married name if you know of that as well. JJ
Do you think she's married or divorced with a different name now? PA medical professional licenses has a few Larissas, but none match Federova or variations.
Thanks for the info so far, and the PM. In Russian, they have of course cyrillic characters which not all translate to English letters. I always knew her as "fyodorova", but in our last emails I see her name on her email is Larissa Federova. I know that she came to the USA and got married. I have no idea what her new last name (if any) would be. I do know that she set up her email account after she was married, and had titled it "Larissa Federova", so maybe she still goes by that? In 2002, she told me she was living in PA with her husband, in a quiet area and she was studying to take some medical tests. She was a cardiologist in Russia, and wanted to be the same here but had to pass lots of exams. I guess it's possible that she is divorced, but I don't believe so. It's also possible that she has moved from PA, but I know her husband had a home there, not just a rental, so its probably more likely that she did not move out-of-state (but I can't say for sure). I know it ain't much to go on That's why its been hard for me to find anything. I will be in Russia next year and if it comes down to it I will fly to her home city and go to her parents house (they love me so it would be fun!)... but I had hoped to see how she is doing. I know she may come to Boston sometimes and it would be good to catch up. Given the limited info I have on her - its tough to think of a way to find her. Probably no property in her name, and I'm not sure what other records are online and available - immigration records? She would have come either in 2001 or 2002 to the USA.
Good luck with your search Mike, it's funny how things like this work out. I lost touch with a very good friend of mine for almost 7 years after highschool. She randomly ran into a friend of mine who gave her my number and now we're closer than ever. have you been able to find the website of the business her father owned? Maybe they have some type of direct contact info? It is possible they changed the email server setup over the years.
