I think my father may be in the market to purchase a TR in the very near future. He's interested in higher mileage (25,000-40,000) mile 5 lug models (88.5 and up). What are the best resources to search for a very good condition car within reasonable (300ish miles) of Richmond VA? I've tried autotrader and Ferrariads, but have had no luck yet, Any ideas?

    Thank you very much.

He would like either Red/Black, or Blue/Black specifically. FOW wants 82k for their 1990 TR with the lower mileage and 75k for the higher mileage example. I thought both prices were rather out of line for those particular cars. I also really don't know how flexible FoW is on prices, but they have continually treated me poorly in my search process.

I was at Classic Coach Ferrari today, and I saw a red TR with 8k miles that had just been fully serviced. They are looking for around 65K. Ask for Rocco

    idoc,

What year was that car? I have seen Red TRs 1989 - 1991 with that mileage sell for high 70s - low 80s. At that price, I am guessing its an earlier car, 1984 - 1987?

we have a 93 512 tr red tan. was hit but is a perfect candidate for a fixer.
we have located the corner parts to fix it as well. We really hate to part it out although we would make more. but 42k and maybe 10-13 to repair. It had its major service and you still be about 60k under market. (salvage title though) then again. Then again thats why its alot less. I do agree some cars should not be repaired and parted but a few do come across that need fixed.
    If interested email [email protected]

I saw the 512TR, and while I do love projects, I am just apprehensive about owning a salvage title vehicle because IF I ever really do need to sell the vehicle I think I am dealing with a very different Ferrari market.

There is a nice 91 TR in West Palm Beach at PBLM.com with around 13k miles for about $63k. It is red with either tan or black interior. You can get a local mechanic to do an inspection. It has been for sale for around 6 months. You can also look on cars.com (it pools all the newspaper ads nationally).
    Good luck.
