I had 3 knock sensors coding as “ failed” so decided to do the job and replace the transmission heat exchanger while I was there . Get the intake cover stripped and powder coated too.
This is no easy job the first time . I learned to lay across the engine like Superman. Lots of quarter inch sockets , extensions and universals . Much grunting , twisting and turning involved. A magnet on a extension was a savior for not dropping nuts , etc. into never never land. Lots and lots of pics of the disassembly was invaluable in putting it back together so far. I can easily see why this is a very expensive job for a shop let alone a dealership. ( at 69 years old it was a workout too)
Hope it starts without codes once I get the covers back . Image Unavailable, Please Login

Who did you buy the heat exchanger from?

Did this a few years back. Buddy got a pic of me just sitting in the engine bay, because I got tired of the yoga poses. Hopefully will never have to do it again...

I reached out to a company a year ago and they said they would have a better kit. Never heard anything.

Finally got it back together. Sure felt like a yoga session completing the job.
Forgot the ECUs needed to recalibrate themselves after the first start. Scared the hell out of me when I first started it with the idle being almost non existent . Thought I’d dropped something in a cylinder! It sorted itself out and I breathed again . All is right with the world now.
