Just finished my 50th bday trip to europe. Went to maranello first. I was suprised at how fiorano track was completely visible to bystanders on the street. I thought it was top secret. Anyone with a stopwatch can time the test drivers?

At the ring I didn't bother with lap times since the main strait is broken up by the entrance/exit on tourist days so I didn't think these times would compare with the official published ones. Then after I finished someone told me all the published times are from the bridges before and after main strait. Just as well I didn't time myself as I would have prob had accident. Anyway where are the lap times taken from?

For tourist laps, bridge-to-gantry is common. For the lap times often quoted by manufacturers and magazines, they actually do full laps.
