I think people may have asked more for some challenge cars but i dont think one ever sold for more than 180k.

That time will be here soon enough. I can tell you right now without a word of a lie that I would not trade my 95B straight up for that 180Gs Fiorano. Not a chance. As these cars get older and more scarce, the GTB will be the car and actually already is the 355 of choice.

    Wow
What a great thread this is.

I agree that $180k seems a bit high but go figure.

I'm about to plunk $$$ on a 1995 GTS gated with under 15k miles and at first I thought I was paying to much, but that deal makes me feel better.

I do think that the 355 are on the way up and want to jump on the train and enjoy one now before they are out of reach.

TWO cases like to point out.
    1) I had an 930 that I sold 3 years ago for $40k and a similar car is now going for $70-$100k.

    2) the biggest case in point is the BB 512. When the 355's first came out I remember BB512's going for what the 355's go for now. Around the $60k's and nobody really wanted them.
NOW you can't touch one for under $300,000!!! Less than 20 years later.....

I would say these two cars are some of the most "valuable" 355's out there if you're looking at purely monetary value alone.

Sorry Gerry but you are wrong. As of today the market has spoken and not fchat. The 355 that is most valued is spider, f1 model

Not a GTS, not a Berlinetta. , not a holy grail Fchat award winning 95 , stick B, but a
    Spider!

Crow on. The market has spoken .

Sounds more like you have spoken. Funny how you seem to speak when it suits you.
Some of my friends are the top of the cream in Ferrari mechanics and in sales and right now a 2.7 gated 6 speed is virtually unobtainable. There are spiders for sale everywhere and this one was an anomaly but never the less a trend setter. A Berlinetta shows the real lines of these cars period. At this very moment there are 11 355s for sale on E-bay....guess what model everyone of them is and which one you won't find.

    Kinda harsh tone Bob. Relax.

If you think this is the market now, there are 7 F1 spiders on eBay now, one with a BIN of 44k. Seems like quick and easy money to be made if you believe what you're saying.

    Oh Gerry.

Really. It doesn't matter who your friends are or who my friends are. The market as if today is what it is. As of today, regardless of what you say or your friends say or think , the market has dictated what is the highest valued 355.

Markets determine value, not chat. Sorry.

Not harsh. Sorry. I am totally relaxed Luke. I own a spider and I didn't pay a 180k for it.

Those are just facts. Markets are what they are. This market today hax set a price point. That's how markets work. We will see how it translates going fixated.

You bought a 355 recently that you thought was good value. The Soiders you quoted may be your next target.

Then you better run to the bank and buy all the under priced spiders on ebay right now. One car is not a trend setter but pointing in the up direction for sure. I know many looking for Bs including FOO especially a 2.7s and don't know anyone looking for a spider.

Most of the spider wound up here in the N/A market. The collectors don't want spiders but their price will be dragged up with the market just as the 348 will be dragged up a little but not much.

2 people battling it out at auction now represent the entire market? Just like everywhere else, there wasn't even a gts or b available for comparison.

This definitively proves f1 spider being worth more than all others as much as the record low price for the same car proves it isn't.

    Just my opinion! :)

Well obviously someone was and was willing to pay 180k for it and I'm sure there was another bidder.

What you think the market is may not be what it is. Watch the signals Gerry.

Hummmm. I wonder why the 360 Modena is worth more than the 360 spider. ...or the 430 Spider is such a bargain compared to the 430 Berlinetta.

I'll let you look on "eBay" for the differences.

I have a dinner date and need to run...

    Carry on.

The market just paid 180k for a spider Gerry. Real money not fchat yacking.

No it is not but I have been watching it for years and believe me it is not far off for what is in demand. 5 years ago there were always a few dinos and now.....none. The prices are usually lower because most of the crap goes to ebay.

How about the fact that the stick 599 at RM sold today for 682k? About 4x the cost of the F1 version. Now THAT was something crazy to watch. :)

No Gerry I am no parrot but I have been sitting here reading the endless banter if how b and GTS are valued higher than Soiders and how this and that is the holy grail if 355s , etc.

Well, you call this an anomaly, that's really funny because we sit here and tack about 5k plus or minus etc. and this car sells for a 100k plus but it is dismissed. Really?

Markets are irrationak. If you ever traded a commodity you would know that. It diesnt matter what you think is right or wrong, the market rules. That's all that is real. Money on the table.
