I always like to carry an exinguisher in my old car, but I just realized my Halon can is about 15 years old - time for a new one. I recently learned that Halon is one of those naughty EPA gases that have been banned. The new subsitute is called Halotron 1, which very efficient at stopping a fire, all while being extremely safe for your car and the environment.

Cut to the chase... I found a company willing to offer decent volume discounts if I can get a sizeable order together. There are several options regarding can size and color. Im just trolling to see if there is any interest here - the prices ranges from $80 to $130, with the deepest discounts for an order of 10+.

    Heres what Im looking at:

AMEREX - top of the line brand!
sizes are 1.4, 2.5, and 5.0 pounds (2.5 is proper for a car application)
can color - Red or Chrome (chrome alittle more $$).
    car mounting clamp included

We dont all have to order identical units. If somebody wants Chrome 1.4, while the next guy wants a Red 2.5.... thats cool. We have the potential to save as much as $25-$30 per unit with free shipping on 10 or more! I will elaborate on the details as I see interest here. Sure you can buy a $20 BiCarb unit from Walmart, but your car could still be a writeoff with the chemical damage done to the electronics and alloys.

I will not make one dollar on this, I simply want to save as much as possible for myself, and include my EC brothers as well! These are top-quality pieces.

    Let me know!

Do you mean the suede/alcantara sleeve from the CS? The extinguishers comes with a steel mount. Maybe Noto can source the Stradale piece from the motherland.

in that case, youll get away with the chrome wrapped whip cream dispenser
as your fire extinguisher. i think lamrossa has one in his car.

Need one (for sure). Cheapest and smallest that works on the type of fires likely in cars.
    Thanks!

you're right hubert, between the red interior, fire being sort of red as well, i'm not sure how you'd even find it when you needed to if the extinguisher were red!

i could probably get away with either color, but i think i like chrome better.

put me down for one, as long as we get that question answered about how it's going to get stowed.

hijack, anyone of you want some serious bling? Get this :D I am a dealer so u know what that means for the EC crew.

This 2lb. capacity hand held fire bottle uses a dry chemical and is certified to help extinguish class B/C fires by laying down a blanket of non-flammable material that smothers the fire and reduces the likelihood of re-ignition. The Sparco hand held extinguisher is available in a polished alloy bottle and comes equipped with a wire mounting bracket and stainless steel release strap for quick access.
