It is out. Watched it from my office window. I was about 1/2 mile from the fire down wind, started at Lost Hills and Las Virgenes, went up the canyon to the freeway. Burned behind the YMCA and Shieffs department buildings. No structures burned.

Word was an engine company was cruising the roads and spotted the smoke before it was even called in. LAFD had helicopter on it before the engine companies arrived. Which likely resulted in quick containment.

Pretty funny, just I was reading this post and watching Channel 7 news at 6:00pm, saw a shot of a silver Lambo Gallardo in the scene.

Man, immediate after that segment of news, motorcyclist killed at Sherman oaks on 405. The back up on the freeway is unbelievable!!!!!

XLNLIFE can not be affected by conventional weapons or natural disasters......didn't we all get that memo? :)

Just the same, I had the guesthouse ready for 'em. Glad everyone is okay and no lose of life or structures occurred. Gotta hand it to the Fire Department, they really got on it lickety-split!

Imagine standing in your back yard looking at the 20-40 feet "Wall of Flames" and thinking am I FUCT or NOT? We just grabbed what we could and were mandated to leave the house immediately. The fire came right to edge of my property line and because I had had my brush clearance done and the wind did not blow directly to my house I was saved.

Thanks you to all the Firefighters from all over southern CA

Wow, close call, luckily your house and no other structures burned... That one business on the side of the freeway must have got a scare, the fire went all the way around it...

I was leaving a metting in Westlake heading South on the 101 when I saw the fire. The freeway backed up, I exited and took the road alongside the freeway to Liberty Canyon where CHP directed us away from the canyon. Ash was falling everywhere and people oddly were parked and watching the fire amongst dry yellow brush. I reconnected with the freeway to take Kanan Dune back to the city. Having been evacuated in Berkeley years ago during the Oakland Hills fire, I know that fires are no joke and burn fast and kill those who wait around too long.

Glad to hear everyone is OK.
