    Hi,

Haven't heard X-OST exhaust before. But had the Tubis on my previous 575. Have to say they are disappointing. The sound wasn't loud enough and was too bassy. No Ferrari F1 shriek.

Now I have a Tubi on my 599 as it came with it. Too loud and too bassy in my humble opinion. My friend has the original exhaust and I actually find it better sounding. Yes, I think Tubis are overrated and overpriced.

    Regards,

    Hendra

Had x-ost on the 599 but only kept it for 30 mins because the resonance was unbearable. It did not sound nice at all, it was *just* loud. The problem wasn't so much the quantity of noise it made, but rather the quality of the noise. It completely killed the V12 symphony. It sounded bad from the outside and was unbearable from the inside.

I was hoping that it would sound like the stock exhaust but only 30% louder... didn't quite turn out that way. I was so happy when the stock exhaust was re-installed...

If anything it allowed me to appreciate better how nice the 599 sounds with stock mufflers...

Perhaps x-ost turned out better for the 550/575...I don't know. However, all I know is that buying an exhaust without hearing it first is a risk. After that experience I would NEVER even consider fitting other set of aftermarket mufflers without trying them on another car first.

Carlo, Hendra- I have heard a Capristo system on the 599, but only on video, and it sounded very nice. This particular system had bypass valves with a wireless remote to control the valves. Same function as the bypass override switch you have installed in your car, Carlo. Where is that switch located in your car's cockpit?

Funny how some maker's exhausts sound great on one model, and not so great on another model. May also have something to do with personal tastes.
