I just bought my first Ferrari -- a 2006 F430. After seeing all the horrifying pictures and stories of spontaneously combusting 430s, I figure I should look into a fire extinguisher or halon fire suppression system.

Does anyone have any suggestions on places that would do such an installation or how much it might cost? Or, if I'm going to do it myself, how would I install it?

As a side note: Anyone know a good clear bra application place in SoCal? Just trying to take care of my new baby :)

So, obviously, that's why I'm starting to obsess about taking care of it! :)

Would be good to meet some other SoCal Ferrari owners... I'm going to start looking at coming to some of the meets if I can.

Not a do it yourself installation. Unless you are entering competition that require a system the plumbing is an unsightly nightmare. Stick to a standard fire extinguisher, Halon type only displaces oxygen, not good for under hood fires. I carry (2) small ones in case I can't get it out with one.....might just get good insurance and let her burn..!!
