I tired searching a bit for this but I figured this would be easier. I've heard some talk of certain ferraris being prone to fires. Which models? What causes it? Is it just a lack of maintenance?

355s caused by cracked fuel pipes - there was a re-call/modification I believe & 308s caused by old/decayed fuel filler neck pipes.

Neither are difficult to check for & remedy.

With 3x8 cars, you have to be aware that with age comes hose fatique. The fuel filler hose is a suspect, always. You should have it replaced with your major service for peace of mind. I did.

I was out of matches, so I was tempted to use it to light a cig, then better judgement prevailed and I just turned the engine off.....

The older cars have a lot of rubber hose connections so time = leaks.

The newer cars just have so many high pressure connections near the engine that it's sort of inevitable to have some troubles out of a population IMO. On my injected Honda trouble-car I counted only 4; whereas, I quit counting after getting to more than 100 on my TR.

So the 348s do not have a fire risk any more than any other car? A 348 is what I'll probably be shooting for in the future.
