Yup that was me. Pumped gas in the car and filled up. When I put the nozzle back I noticed a spark or flame. I ran over and grabbed the fire extinguisher. Tried to put out the blaze. Ran out of chemical so I grabbed the second extinguisher. Ran out of chemical a second time. I told the attendant to run and shut off the pump. We both darted across the street. As I watched the car get engulfed by flames, and the smoke billowed out I heard a pop. Then suddenly the car began crawling out of the gas station. My relief was short lived as I realized it was heading into the street. I ran across to the other side to wave cars away from crossing the cars path. At one point it looked like a scene from back to the future. First the police arrived then shortly after that the fire fighters came and put out the blaze. Now I sit here without a Ferrari :(

Holy crap...this is what all of us fear...I'm glad, just like everybody else, that no one was hurt. What year 308?...GTS?...I hope you will be able to get right back behind the seat of another F-car very soon...

My wife gets pissed when I make her get out of the car to fill up, because she is usually dressed up in nice shoes.

My solution is to always go for a drive by myself, and fill up before we are taking one of the older F cars on a trip.

    Not a bad solution....

Truly sorry to hear this: Hopefully you can be on the road to a replacement after this is all done.

and not wanting to add salt or damage future salvage value [assuming you are handing over to salvage] can you let us know the VIN/SN ? then again, I would totally understand if you don't.

Saw this and was wondering if it was any member here. Sorry for the loss and glad no one got hurt.

    Q) Can the E-brake get loose in that scenario?

    Sorry about the loss.

Assuming it is covered by insurance I'd get in touch with Spencer at Fantasy Junction and get some guidance on it's market value and ask for references for an appraiser that can provide documentation the insurance company will accept. I went through that process and it can get problematic. Especially in a market as volatile as this has been.

It is worth a few dollars to protect your interests.

A 308 E-brake can get loose in any scenario. They are for the most part decorative.
