I've been using Firefox for the last few months after many recommendations on FChat. I came across Firefox 3.5 via Google News and just completed the download. Seems faster for me and like the "+" to open a new tab. I'm pretty much a plain jane user when it comes to web browsers so that's the extent of my comments; anyone else try it?

Downloaded it earlier this afternoon - noticeably faster and more stable. Highly recommend everyone upgrades if you currently use Firefox (and/or switch to this new browser if you're still using IE or Google Chrome.)

I've been bouncing around the net since the switch to 3.5 and does seem quite a bit faster. I'm surprised I wasn't prompted to upgrade when I opened Firefox 3.0; maybe a slow rollout? I use Chrome on my "work" laptop b/c I primarily check my gmail account. I'll try 3.5 on it and see if there is a difference.

I was a big proponent of Chrome originally but found that there was a delay up the update of new Gmail emails which I couldn't stand. I couldn't be happier with the new Firefox..

I've been an avid Firefox user for like 8 years now.

I downloaded Firefox 3.5 here at work yesterday and immediately noticed that it is faster, which is ALWAYS a positive. The google apps (gmail, google docs, reader, etc.) load significantly faster, which is fantastic. I like 3.5s support for the new html v5 web standard, which looks like it could revolutionize the web.

The private browsing mode also looks like it could be very useful... but I have not yet had a chance to play around with it yet.

Some of my extensions that I use aren't compatible with 3.5 yet, so I haven't installed it at home though.

    VERY fast. A+

Some extensions and add-ins don't seem to work quite right, but nothing that would stop a casual user from enjoying much faster browsing.

Did they remove the Awful Bar? I HATE the new URL bar function on the 3.x branch.

You might be able to change the behavior under about:config. I personally like it because I don't have to remember the first few letters that a URL started with. For instance, a page on Wikipedia is something like: en.wikipedia.org/... and before I would have to type "en.wi..." for it to suggest Wikipedia, but now I can just type "wik..." It does take a little getting used to, but it learns what you choose most often so it will become more accurate over time.

Seems like it does most of the things Chrome does....but is it faster?
