    Driving to the lake this afternoon and saw a Fire Boss taking off from Omak heading north. Get to the house and wife said there had been a fatal plane crash and a fire had started.
    Plane crash debris found in Okanogan Co., at least 1 dead
    Airport (Oroville, 0S7) is just above the shoreline at base of hill behind the flagpole. Crash was up in the hills about 10 mi east. Two Fire Boss aircraft were working hard.

    A few yrs ago there was a PBY doing laps on the lake. It used about 3 miles of lake for pickup and TO.

    That's unfortunate..... I was just up in Idaho in places with terrain that appears very similar to where you are at and there was a lot of good flying to be had.
